After a long 13-hour flight, we arrived in Auckland, and our driver headed north. It was a Sunday, so we stopped in at the Matakana Farmers Market, where we enjoyed some local feijoa wine before spending a relaxing afternoon snorkelling at Goat Island.nnThat evening, we went to Valhalla to catch up with our friend, whom we had not seen in some time. The setting was stunning, and the small cottage our friend was staying in was incredibly quiet, private, and peaceful.nnWhen we arrived at our room, we were pleasantly surprised to find a tray of sufganiyot waiting for us. They were delicious. The private chef’s matzah ball soup was absolutely outstanding, which we shared with our friend under the New Zealand stars.nnThe security detail was world-class and the whole experience was the perfect way to ease into our four-day stay in New Zealand. Thank you!
