Utopia Cafe was a great breakfast stop for us before starting our journey. It had exactly the kind of simple, satisfying breakfast we needed before getting back on the road. We tried the cafe latte, scrambled eggs, sunny side up eggs, hash browns, and waffles.nnThe cafe latte was a bit stronger than our taste, even after adding extra milk, so that may depend on how you like your coffee. The food, however, was very good. The scrambled eggs and sunny side up eggs were nicely done, and the hash browns were crispy, flavorful, and tasted fresh. The waffles were also delicious and easily one of the highlights of the meal.nnOverall, Utopia Cafe is definitely worth stopping by if you are along the route. For us, it worked perfectly as a breakfast place before beginning the day’s drive. Good food, a comfortable stop, and a solid choice for a morning meal.
Had a wonderful breakfast here after leaving waimarino on the way to Wellington. Great little town and a beautiful spot for a good honest meal. I had the big breakfast, fresh and tasty food, simply presented and not pretending to be something it’s not, just great food to get you going in the morning. Coffee was great too. Service was excellent, price was reasonable and location on the main road with easy parking is really convenient.
Whenever we visit Ohakune, we often do breakfast at this Cafe. Awesome warm tasty food every time. The staffs are very nice and helpful. The cafe can be very crowded at times, so, keep some time in hand.
We got the big breakfast and it was amazing! super good value and extremely filling.. the tropical fruits smoothie and strawberry matcha were also really yum. Staff are really friendly too!
I finally stopped in at Utopia Café in Ohakune after driving past it so many times, and I’m really glad I did. The place has always looked inviting from the outside, and that feeling carries through the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and genuinely welcoming — the kind of café where you instantly feel at ease.nnThe staff were in great spirits, friendly and upbeat, chatting with customers and even singing along to the music playing in the background. It’s such a refreshing way to start the morning. No one wants grumpy café energy before their first coffee of the day right? Utopia absolutely nailed the vibe today.nnI ordered my usual flat white, and it arrived quickly. I’ve had more coffees than I can count over the years, so I’m a bit of a snob, but this one was genuinely good — smooth, balanced, and well made it was nicely done.nnThe café itself was spotless, and the food in the cabinet looked like it had been prepared with real care. You can tell when a place takes pride in what it serves.nnOverall, a great experience. Highly recommended. Five stars from me.
