Awsome job! We had Urban insulate our addition many years ago. We have nothing but good to say about them. Went we decided to do our garage we called for an estimate. We also called another company for a price. Well Urban came in ALOT cheeper. I know cheeper isn't always better. But they did a wonderful job! Our garage looks great and the installer was pleasant and professional. And pricing out the materials for me to do the work wasn't much less than them doing it. And I was pricing roll when they had the more expensive pre cut. If your looking for insulation give them a call.
Well, it's been just over a year since Urban Insulation finished their 6+ month debacle at my house and I'm still working to repair the damage they left behind. If you need insulation put in your house, whatever you do DO NOT CALL URBAN INSULATION. The workers called me near the end of my work shift to let me know there "might" be "some" insulation inside my house. I was a part time student and had 5 hours of classes after my 9 hour shift that day but I had to rush home to make sure the animals in my home weren't being exposed to whatever the insulation was made out of. When I got home and saw the damage, I called the boss. Their inexperience forced too much insulation in my walls in 6 different places and blew the drywall, spewing insulation INSIDE my house. Multiple rooms were damaged. The boss immediately blamed our drywall over the phone. When I demanded that he come see and to help clean up, he gave me attitude. When he finally got to my house that night he recognized that it was his companies fault. No apologies either. He just complained that cleaning this up at the end of his day was the last thing HE needed. Urban hired a contractor the bosses brother to come fix the walls. That was two weekends of work and mind you, his brother did some awesome work! They sent a different crew out to finish the insulation job. First day went smoothly. The second, not so much. They ended up drilling a hole and shredding an electrical wire in our wall. The power was out to half of our upstairs. The crew and my brother also a homeowner called the boss. His reply? "Not our problem. We weren't working in that area." He told us that no way we had a live wire exposed in our wall without being here or seeing anything of course and that something must have been jumbled loose. Thankfully we were able to convince him to send an electrician. We in fact had a live cut wire in our wall. The repair of that caused the contractor to have to come back out to fix more drywall. That's cost another weekend. I had to ask for a discount. It was never offered. No apologies were ever made. They made me feel horrible about even asking. They finally offered me less than 10% off the job. On a whim before I sent the check, I had another company come out with a thermal imaging camera. Urban missed spots *sigh*. The gentleman from the other A+ BBB rated company also informed me that they shouldn't have needed to drill holes in our siding and should have been able to pull the siding off. Now we're left with a couple hundred 2 inch drilled holes in our wood siding which a homeowner never agreed to let them do. I naïvely thought that they had an easy fix and we just might get stuck painting or something. Yeah, not the case and my fault there, but I'll get to that in a minute. Anyway, I convinced the owner of the company that I needed someone to come back out to finish the job and he sent the boss guy. As I was taking him through the house showing him the missing spots that correlated to the thermal imaging pictures I mentioned that now we have to find a way to fix all these holes. He turned to me looking a little shocked and said, "Wait, what? You're not residing? I was under the impression you were residing. We NEVER would have drilled these holes if you weren't." That's why you ALWAYS talk to a HOMEOWNER before changing your game plan. They never got my permission! They got permission from someone at my house, but not a homeowner. They led that person to believe it was the only way to do it and that's what needed to be done. I'm pretty sure I could have a court case here but I'm exhausted by them and don't have the will at this point. I'm a full time student now and trying to scrimp and save to try to buy replacement boards a couple at a time $60 each and I can't find them cheaper and having friends do the work. Everything else has been put on hold and that's just how it has to be. Bottom line, this company screwed me and I waited to write a review because of how miserable this place has, and still, makes me. I expect nothing from them.
Urban insulation came recommended from a relative that has used them twice; relative is quite knowledgeable about home improvement so I trust his judgement. representative came to my home to look over insulation for unfinished attic with outdated/improper insulation. He was honest with his assessment and I could tell that he was sincere in offering me a few solutions that would avoid unnecessary costs; this goes along way with me. Although i haven’t had any work completed as of yet... my experience has been very pleasant and I’ll be sure to recommend to friends.
The installers arrived early, were friendly and professional. Completed job quickly with nooo problems. The basement insulation blanket looks terrific and I could not be happier. Need some insulation work? Call Urban Insulation, you [won't] be disappointed!! Thank you, Brian!
Be Careful Admittedly not a paying customer here, although my building management company was. While insulating the first floor maintenance area below my apartment and the one next door the installers ran gas motors for spray foaming indoors without venting outside. The result of which was my apartment and adjacent apartment filling with CO and causing CO Detectors to go off. Luckily I was awake and exited the building. When alerting the install crew to the issue and the fact that CO was setting off detectors upstairs I was told that they would have to be "doing this throughout the day" and I should open my windows and not stay if it got "Too bad." It is apparently my responsibility to vent their fumes outdoors.
Everyone at urban insulation is very friendly they do an amazing job they have a quality product and their prices are fair the only place to go for insulation in my mind cost some spray foaming they do a great job
Hired Urban Insulation to insulate my attic- the quote was accurate, service was fast, friendly and professional. Very happy with the results!
