Urban Homes is a Wellington based new home building company that specialises in designing and building homes people will love.

We take care of the entire process from concept to turn key including planning, council, excavation of site, practical construction of the entire house and management of all subcontractors.

Urban Homes are certified builder members and offer a Built In Homefirst 10 year guarantee with all our homes, which protects against loss of deposit and workmanship faults.

Site specific contract works insurance is taken out for every build for the duration of the construction period giving our clients total peace of mind.

Our policies are simple; they revolve around providing accurate, friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly honest service.

Unsatisfactory Experience with Urban Homes Limited  I regret to share my disappointing experience with Urban Homes Limited, specifically owner Brent Tapp and project manager Pat Hannaway. If you’re considering doing business with them, please be aware of the following issues:  1. Significant Delays: Our build was delayed by more than 14 months, causing frustration and inconvenience. 2. Poor Project Management: Expect work to be done sporadically rather than in a systematic manner. Months may pass without anyone showing up on-site. 3. Inaccurate Invoices: We received invoices for work that was never carried out. 4. Lack of Communication: There was no clear communication regarding project milestones.

BE WARNED – We had an absolutely heart-breaking experience with Urban Homes. We were shown contempt and disrespect through the whole lengthy period. Communication was non-existent and when we requested updates on the progress of our build we were considered unreasonable and received even less communication. Considering the build was delayed by two years this left us in a position of having no idea when we would be able to move into our house and how to continue financing our mortgage and rent. We never did receive an explanation on why we had such lengthy delays. Then our fixed price contract meant absolutely nothing to the company as all construction halted until we agreed to pay another $160K on top of the agreement, the communication over this period was aggressive and unprofessional to say the least. After being promised no further increases on the price we were held to ransom weeks before out move in date requesting a further $35K or we would not receive handover. Please don’t put yourself through the pain, choose a different builder! The amount of pain and upset these people caused us is beyond words.

I would recommend due diligence for anyone considering working with them. Our experience for the build of our home was less than pleasant, with long delays, poor to no communication and very poor project management skills by Pat.

If you want your build to not to be delivered on time hire Urban homes. They just sleep on your build. Not efficient and lazy project manager called Pat. Dont buy anything from them .NegativePunctualityServicesService not listed
