Welcome to UCanBC! This is a place where everyone is welcomed regardless of your badminton background. We cater to all skill levels from beginners to competitive.

Story

We offer opportunities to participate in inter-club competition and badminton training from beginner to high performance level. We also have a certified BWF certified coach with sports science background that can help with your questions about the game or fitness tips. You are welcome to join us or feel free to contact us for any queries.

Best place to study. Great atmosphere, well equipped laboratories and people are very welcoming, helping and Friendly.Students will find everything they need on campus, including four different libraries, a state-of-the-art fitness facility called the RecCentre, art galleries and a number of different bars and restaurants. The institution has been awarded with a 5-star ranking for research and teaching by the QS World University Ranking... indeed.!!! . It is based on New Zealand’s beautiful South Island, there is lots for students to do outside of lectures. From surfing to skiing, the diverse landscape that surrounds the city of Christchurch provides unique sporting and cultural opportunities for international students. Also I am adding some of the pictures of old campus which is based in city centre of Christchurch. It was affected so much due to earthquake but now they are reconstructing it.

Everyone, party going on Ilam Fields tonight - Sat 12/3/22 this one is better than last week. Happy smiling police and security guards talking with party goers. Such a lovely atmosphere and the security have turned the flood lights off. Its a really nice intimate feel tonight. Such a magical place to binge drink, break the law on covid gatherings. Oh beautiful covid lets share it free love style. The University Of Canterbury has an amazing party and boozing culture. The partying of students when covid gathering limits set at 50 is irresponsible. Have a look at the photos below, seriously the University of Canterbury seem powerless to curb the binge drinking and out of control students.
I believe that everywhere in the world you will find the good side and bad side of every university. there is no perfect one and since its also service based; the feeling it gives 1 person might be different to another. i am going go hopefully attend this uni and i just cant wait. from all i have read and the videos i have seen its awesome. sidenote: reduce the campus rent fee

Great university! Have really enjoyed studying here even in the aftermath of the earthquakes. Its great to see the rebuild here well underway. The grounds are very beautiful, especially during the spring and summer when the are flowers blooming.
They will teach you invaluable skills but you will be swallowed in the crowd. Not listened to at times and it's a huge struggle to get one on one time with the lecturers. Had a blast in the clubs and made great friends here. Pity some of the engineering lecturers struggled with English. This was years ago now so I am sure it's better now.
I graduated from the University of Canterbury and without hesitation I can say I had a great time socially and academically. There are some superb lecturers there with high quality teaching and learning resources. The recent upgrades with the new buildings being built mean if you consider going here you won't be disappointed with the environment or the staff. Choose Canterbury as your first choice and enrol now.
University of Canterbury is a great place to study with lots of course options and fantastic staff. However; as always experiences depend on your subjects of choice and how hard you try. If you don't put in the effort you won't make it. Some courses certainly don't warrant a entire course simply because they lack content and don't teach you much past getting you points for a degree - so as always make sure you pick carefully and balance your workloads be sure to talk to your departments course advice - as they really are awesome!
