Story

Underworld Adventures is a company founded and run by cavers located on the wild West Coast of New Zealand. With our passion for caves and karst we take you on cave adventures where you can experience the beauty, the fascination and the feeling that drives cavers to explore subterranean treasure lands. On each of our three tours we take you right into the heart of the marvelous limestone country the Paparoa National Park is so famous for.
Going Underworld Rafting or joining us on the Glowworm Cave Tour combines fun and discovery in a pristine environment. Experience amazing cave formations, gaze at or float under a surreal galaxy of glowworms and if you come with us underworld rafting finish your trip of by a fun tubing down the gentle rapids of the Nile River.

Absolutely incredible. Like genuine ‘other world’ sort of stuff. The staff are so incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, the train ride up was cute and tranquil, the cave itself, just mind blowing. I can’t believe we have this beauty ‘in our own back yard’. Well worth every penny, if you’re considering doing it, DO IT!
Great 4 hour experience. Caves were amazing, our lady guide was a mine of information. Totally recommend.
Amazing experience! We did the glow worm/cave tour. I was so stunned by the gorgeous cave. And our guide was so knowledgeable! Highly recommend giving it a go. Only tip would be if you seem to attract mosquitoes/sandflies a lot, wear long pants or repellent.
An awesome day out. Our guide Will was fantastic and the caves are beautiful, it was lovely to be able to journey through a cave in it's natural form and not full of man made concrete paths. Rafting out afterwards is hilarious and great fun, I'd highly recommend this to anyone venturing out the west coast.
We did the train adventure, super amazing! Value for money is sooo good! Stoked we stumbled across this place, beautiful scenery tucked away
We didn't stay here, just had a very good lunch. The place is well appointed, lovely views and looked very clean.
An unmolested cave system. You need to be fit and agile to really enjoy it.
