What is reflexology and how does it work?
Reflexology is a non-intrusive therapy that uses gentle massage techniques to produce either a stimulating or sedative effect of the body. The techniques use the thumb, fingers and hand to apply pressure to reflex points on the feet. These reflex points correspond to the body’s organs and systems. This helps to create a relaxing and calm state and prompt the innate healing function within the body.

Reflexology is thought to be helpful in restoring balance to the body, support emotions and create a sense of wellbeing. People may experience a feeling of warmth and peace and a sensation of ‘energy moving’ within.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy and does not include any medical advice, diagnosis or cure. Reflexology should not replace any treatment and advice given by a conventional medical practitioner.

When to avoid reflexology.
If you have any injury and wounds to the foot or ankle. In the first trimester of pregnancy. If suffering from thrombosis or any other blood clotting conditions. Have a fever, high temperature or any unstable medical condition that is being treated by a physician.
