First timing staying there. Wasn't sure what it was going to be like at such a cheap price but was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean and had everything needed. Had a nice view too. The restaurant meals was so good. Very impressed. Had lamb shank which was divine. Best garlic bread i've had in a very long time. Plenty of garlic butter and real garlic. No complaints at all. Def would stay there again.
Clean and comfortable beds. Great to be able to take our small dog with direct access to green area. Sadly unable to use Restaurant due to lack of staff, even though we booked earlier in the week. No vegetarian options on menu.
I came to turangi for a course. My accommodations and the course were held there. Charlie and all his staff are absolutely lovely friendly and polite. If you need help they are happy to help.I totally enjoyed my stay it's so peaceful there and with the river for trout fishing a few moments away.. The food served in the restaurant was 100% worth the money it's priced at. I totally recommend Turangi Bridge Motel.
I used to eat at the Bridge Lodge over the years but I have to say the standards have dropped. The food was very salty tonight, too salty to eat. The young lady who served was doing her best and tried to be helpful but she obviously hasn't had the training from management. There was no welcome, plates and menu left on the table and it was all very informal. I will not go again which is a pity because there are very few restaurants in Turangi of the standard that the lodge used to have.
Stayed here for a night on the way back from Auckland. Met Charlie who gave me my key etc then when I had problems with the wifi fixed the problem. Also booked me into the spa and came to my room to let me know when it was free. Went to the restaurant and he was also helping in there as well, brilliant. Only problem was that I ordered the vegetarian dish and no one told me that it would take a lot longer to prepare than the other dishes on the menu. Three groups of people came in after me and received their food before me. Was lovely when it came but very frustrating waiting 45 minutes. That was the only negative thing but it put a real downer one what would have been a perfect experience.
Very clean unit. Had to mention a few things missing e.g. plug for bathroom basin, no tea towel or dishcloth. Otherwise it was great. Restaurant was excellent, with lovely, friendly service.Rooms: 3/5
Beautiful park like grounds next to the river. Clean and comfortable rooms. Restaurant is excellent. Good sized portions and delicious and affordable. Will be back again Rooms: 5/5
Im so sad to break my rule of not talking ill but it would be remiss of me to not give a heads up to others. We sadly got a room that had an over powering smell to disguise stale cigarette smell, the carpet was stained and we decided to leave. Even though we went in and straight back out, we did not get given a full refund and were offered half. I have stayed pre-covid and the motel was lovely then. It looks like hard times have hit. It was not my cup of tea, maybe Im being too fussy but I couldn't stay with that terrible perfume. It was also in the reception area too.
The room was clean and quiet for our one night stay. Good value. Having the restaurant on sites was great. Will look to use again when travelling. Food & drinks: Good value and the service was very friendly from the locals
Rooms were very clean however the wifi connection was very weak. We had dinner at the in house restaurant and it wasn’t good. The service staff that day wasn’t prompt in service when we entered as they continued chatting upon seeing us enter and only came with the menu awhile later. Meals took 40 mins even though we were the first customers. The proteins from the 2 dishes grilled fish & chips and steak & fries we ordered were way over cooked however fries were good. Thought about sending back the meals but didn’t as we didn’t want to wait for another 40 mins.
