Friendly staff and nice cafe. Also recommend the extra cost viewing room. There's an interesting short film, and some good interacive displays, and some beautiful rock petrified wood specimens.Service: 5/5
Nice stop between the visits to the attraction nearby. Pace urself and take a break here between your walks. There’s a small museumpaid inside. Plenty of car park space. Staff is polite. Toilet is clean.
#cafe and camp area# If you are on the way between Dunedin and Bluffyou can take a break hereCafe and desserts are average. There is fossil forest near by.Food: 3/5
Place is amazing great atmosphere, good selection of food for children, fresh ingredients. Cant fault it definitely worth the visit!!Food: 5/5
Went with little to no expectations about the food and service however, pleasantly surprised with how good the service was! The staff was very pleasant, cheerful and nothing was too much trouble for her. She went out of her way to make meals gluten free and checked for any dietary restrictions. The food was good but the service made the dining experience a lot more enjoyable!
We've been staying at the camping ground for a number of years. Its a great spot to stay with a great beach. We didn't have anything to eat but the coffees and hot chocolates were fantastic. Also the staff were very accommodating as we had a number of changes to our booking at late notice.Food: 5/5
Very interesting short film showing history of area. Some great relics in the curioscape, see picsFood: 4/5

My husband and I are seniors from Canada and cycling the South Island - we had a great stay ! In - spite of requiring to an extra day day to very high winds and rain . The waves were amazing to view - the staff and food great ! Good kitchen and showers nice and clean Our Hillenberg tent kept us dry even in the 56km wind gust
Firstly, our coffees were excellent. I had a long black and my wife a soy flat white. I had a serving of fries. Very ordinary but ok $12.50. Wife had a vegan cake slice, again ok but nothing to rave about. My biggest erk was the lack of displayed prices on their cabinet food pies, cakes, pastries etc.. It's cynical and people shouldn't have to either ask or just wing it. For example the sausage rolls looked like they'd been run over by a truck. So perhaps might be ok if $3, but not if say $6 or more. Final observation is that other than perhaps the barista, the rest of the staff looked as though they'd rather be elsewhere. Vegetarian options: Not sure about vege, but vegan very limited.
