Great restaurant food, loved my Eggs Benedict & bacon. I thought brewery tour was a little overpriced considering we can't climb the tower. Suggest $20-$22 rather than $25. Glad it included an excellent cider and Tui beer glass.... awesome for summer smoothies !. Great customer service and friendly staff. Recommended :D
Whilst the brewery tour is a bit short, it's an incredibly interesting and well set out place to visit and learn the history of. The bar is a great place to spend the afternoon and enjoy a great range of different beers on tap, with freakin' delicious and freshly cooked lunch served directly to your table. For the international traveller, I highly recommend giving the brewery a visit, even if it's just to add something fresh and enjoyable to your list of activities.
A totally unexpected and unplanned lunch… but so glad that we did! We really liked this place and think it is well worth a visit. It’s a great atmosphere and the staff are welcoming and friendly. The beer tasting is an absolute MUST!
Top spot that is nestled away between Woodville and Pahiatua. We've driven past this spot so many times and finally decided to stop in, a great Eggs Benedict with a morning beer... We will definitely be back and spend more time exploring the grounds and walking through the museum.
Were there 3yrs ago and did the guided tour but due to covid the touring part was closed . But the restaurant , bar , gift shop and the indoor and outdoor seating was full on . Awesome meal awesome day .
Food was great, nice friendly service, with a cold beer. Great to look around at the signs and old buildings etc. Well worth a stop.
Went with some friends to do the Brewery or lack there of tour. Cost of $25 to watch a video, see a couple of buildings we couldn’t enter, a tour guide who read from a piece of paper and struggled with answers when asked then told us of a bunker below the ground but ‘don’t know how they got in there’, shown a couple of old vehicles to the final disappointment the non-working brewery. We were hoping to smell and see beer brewing. Others in our group were also not aware it was no longer a working brewery. Food menu had only chips or cheese pizza as options for vegetarians. The upside was it was a nice day and we got to enjoy beers outdoors in the garden bar.
Bit slow getting my review up but the service we received from Katelyn on 19th May had to be acknowledged. She was unobtrusively attentive and looked after us well. The pizza was nice too ! We’ll call in again when travelling that way.
Nice family bar, lovely food, lovely hosts, worth the stop just to read the history and browse the shop too Tui beer and bourban can park there or across the road at the freedom camp ground beside the river where you can safely swim
Food was less than acceptable. Christmas main was an overcooked roast potato, 3 cold sllices of ham, grated cartot & a few walnuts and frozen beens. Steak samdwhich & chicken burger all less than satisfactory. My recommendation is to not order a meal at all.
