Kia Ora, and welcome to Trout Hunters. Thanks for taking the time to check out my site. My name is Matt Miles, I am a dedicated fly fisherman, guide, hunter and family man. I started my fly fishing and fly tying journey in 1987, and it has taken me to amazing places around South Africa, England, America and New Zealand, and introduced me to some inspirational people.
I am one of the few New Zealand guides who is an IFFF Certified Casting instructor, so by using me you are guaranteed quality service and tuition. I have also fly fishing competitively at national level in South Africa and tournament casted for the British Fly Casting Club while living in the UK. I relocated to New Zealand in 2009 with my family, and have spent much of that time researching and exploring rivers around South Canterbury, Otago and Southland.
Being a registered teacher by profession, I take a very instructional approach when guiding, and try to enhance your casting and fishing skills fishing while finding you fish to catch.
