Totally worth the stop. Never seen so many kauri trees in one place. Lovely boardwalk through the forest. Good for kids. Little info centre and toilets.
Great place to learn about Kauri in real life. Save the Kauri Forests. Protect the Kauri one of the largest and longest living trees on earth! They are dying from Kauri dieback disease.
Great walk through native bush, with many large Kauri. We saw Kerereu on a couple of occasions. The loop may take 30 minutes but it's easy to spend longer here. Suitable walking for all levels of fitness, mostly on boardwalks.
A part of NZ that has thankfully been save for all of us to enjoy, our native giant Kauri standing tall like they should be!
Fabulous Kauri forest walk. Relatively easy 40mins total loop walk including access walk. Interesting to note ancient Maori food storage pits near top of Pa site.
An awe-inspiring and truly amazing 2 hours wandering through the Kauri Park. The slower pace was well worth it and the DoC campground was bullish. Spent two days there and thoroughly enjoyed the dawn chorus and the noisy kiwis in the night.
Really nice walk. Especially going at night time when kiwis come out. We stayed at the nearby camping ground and it was really handy to access the park from there. Will certainly come back.
