It says they are “Pet Friendly” but how is it “Pet Friendly” when they tell you your pet dog has to sleep outside! Fine if that is what your dog is used to, but otherwise NOT acceptable and their information on their website should be more honest
Highly recommend staying here. We stayed 3 nights. Very well maintained and extremely clean. Check in was smooth. We had plenty of space and the lawn was very even and good ground for our tent set up. Kitchen with 2 gas cooktops, refrigerator, freezer, toasters, microwaves and kettles. As well as two grills. Hot showers that operate off of a $2 coin for 4 minutes we were told at check in to use the showers furthest from the door because they are the warmest which was a great tip There is a washer/dryer operated by $2 coins There is a beautiful beach down the street.
This place is the perfect place to stay if you’re camping in Taupo Bay. Great facilities mixed with a friendly family environment left us with great memories here.
The pro’s: - close to beach - large flat sites - friendly staff The cons: - The shower set up is terrible it’s $2 for 4mins but it takes 1-3 mins for the water to heat up, if at all. The water pressure even if you’re the only one in the showers is very low. When the time runs out, both the hot and cold shut off so you can’t even wash the soap off with cold - Nice to have the full family running the shop etc but they were very young and had no idea on questions like where to find grey water disposal and no other adults around admittedly they mentioned they had half their staff down with sicknesses.
A beautiful Holiday Park - great facilities - great owners & awesome camp dog Schnapper. And Taupo Bay is stunning - we'll be back!!
Great spot but you will need a trolley or car if you want to take more than just a towel to the beach.Rooms: 5/5
We drove our 7 metre van here from Cape Reinga. Turn off the main road onto country style road towards Taupo Bay. A little twisty but we managed easily as the road is quiet. Follow the signs for speed. If it says 30km you should do that for your safety. Easy to drive through driveway access. Follow the signs to the office. Staff and Snappy the dog are ready to greet you and check you in. Parked up to a powered sight on stone gravel. Clean toilets and hot showers, kitchen and beautiful lawns. Great recycle initiatives. This place is clean emaculate and we'll kept. Well spaced away from other campers. Beautiful characteristic view of the rock mountain. Well priced. Worth the drive for what you get when you park here for the night. Our. Cats loved watching the birds from the windows. Relaxing.
Perfect campground. Sheltered from the wind but close to the beautiful beach. Has excellent facilities, which are always clean and well maintained. Lovely managers and staff. Highly recommended for anyone - families, couples, young people. Also dog friendly which was nice - I’m not sure if this includes peak season.Service: 5/5
I didn't camp here but used the wifi and checked out the facilities and cabins - all first class. Only a short walk to a seriously wonderful beach with various levels of surf across the whole beach. Within 5 minutes, you are totally relaxed, the vibe is serene.
Great powered campsite, lovely family run and so close to a beautiful beach.Service: 5/5
