Created fer foot stompin fun, "The Original Hicksville Swamp Stompers" are Gittin ready to holler a few hits you’ll certainly know, only you may not be prepared for the style of music these numbers will be performed! Try to imagine Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” sung in the style of Bluegrass or AC/DC and Aerosmith songs converted to Fun Up tempo Country music and you’ll be starting to get the idea. Rick Toner ( Ricky Bobby Cleadus Aloiciuos the third ) says the fun element and surprise of hearing your favourite song sung in the style of country is a humorous bent on the usual cover variations you hear performed live. Of course it wouldn’t be fun unless the group performed in Dungarees, cowboy hats and bare feet. All the songs are sung with a southern American Hick accent in full 3 part harmony. A New Zealand first and yes, they’re from our very own Hawkes Bay. “Hicksville, Hastings" in fact.
