For over 60 years TrailLite has been building quality, luxury Motorhomes and Caravans for Kiwis wanting to live the dream!

Story

We're a family of innovators with heritage steeped in tradition

We started life as a humble cabinetmaker's factory, before the team saw an opportunity in the booming 1950s caravan market. Our cabinetmaking abilities were the perfect foundation for creating quality caravan interiors and 1954 saw the first TrailLite caravan roll off the production line. The design was an instant hit.

Now over 60 years on we are helping Kiwi's achieve their lifestyle dreams- traveling NZ in their choice of a New TrailLite, AutoSleeper, Benimar or Bailey Caravan. The team's commitment to quality and service were soon recognised and TrailLite's name became synonymous with New Zealand made luxury caravans. What followed was queues of customers waiting for their slice of our Kiwi pie.

Trailite is incompetent at nearly every level in our opinion. It has twice ordered the wrong parts for our warranty work, which has taken well over 12 months to sort... they always blame the European suppliers, but unfortunately its there own staff who do not order correctly, do not check what they receive and then get people to travel around the countryside at their own expense to find out they have the wrong parts and they cant be fitted. This is even after you check in with them to make sure before you depart. They take no ownership and never recompensate the costs you incur because of their incompetence. If you were looking for a party to buy from and/or question their support or service of warranty issues... never use these guys. Quite frankly they just dont care or take ownership. I would never buy anything attached to them whether its their product or their warranty of overseas brands. Be warned and unfortunately it is a theme as I have come accross other owners who are selling Traillites because of similar poor service issues.
Great service. We where meet as we came in and given the tour of the different trailLites and features that we could have. We didn't feel under pressure to buy. We really enjoyed our look and innovating new features

Hi Pity when you hand over a new van that everything that should be in it is and not have your valued customers wait for weeks to have the transaction completed. On this occasion you have not lived up to your sale or the after sales experience as it is still incomplete after 6 weeks. Please remember bad news travels faster than good news,which is much better for ongoing sales!
Great communication and service. All the staff are very welcoming and make you feel part of their business.i would recommend them and I would purchase from them should the occasion arises.
Having called in to the service department yesterday to get a booking for a small warranty job I saw Andy Irvine and after seeing what I wanted he said take a seat in the lounge area and have a hot drink. The job was done in quick time and I was on my way. A great company to deal with.
Large stock of motorhomes on sale. Salesman very attentive, asked about our requirements before showing us models to suit those, and offered some great advice. Good place to check out if you're looking for a motorhome - worth the journey off the motorway.
Discussed with the appauling service from this business. After phoning with urgent repair issue . I was told someone would call me back in 10-15min. Never happened and there phone answer service continually disconnected over the next two hours. I dove across auckland to find the advertised address is for sales not service . Locating the business is also made difficult by lack of street name signage. When i finally arrived at the premises and identifed the young woman who had taken my inital call i described the difficulties i had had in contacting and locating the business. She offered no explaination but said they werent interested in doing the work. She said see ya and laughed in my face as i left. This woman doesnt deserve a job . Let alone one as first contact for any business that actually wants to remain in business.
Great business. Loved being shown through the factory by an obviously proud salesman. Genuinely keen to show off their product.
We found the journey of purchasing a new TrailLite motor home to be a very stress-free one. From the beginning when we ordered our new van at the Covi Show through the building process and the actual handover all the staff we dealt with were warm, friendly and exceedingly helpful. No question was too small to provide an answer to. Handover day was a truly unique experience. We were living in our previous motor home at the time and TrailLite made allowance for that and we were given all the time we needed to transfer everything to had new van. We are exceedingly pleased with the beautiful finish in the end product and would have no hesitation in recommending TrailLite to anyone thinking of purchasing a motor home Allan & Marnie Simpson
