Story

The To’utupu Tonga Trust also known as the Tongan youth Trust (TYT) was established in 1996 and became a charitable trust in 1997. TYT is purely focused on helping Tongan young people as well as other ethnic young people. The Trust has moved onto wider community projects, extensive partnership, and strong networks and helping thousands of young people. Our goal is to equip Tongan/PI youth with the skills, attributes and education they need to lead a healthy, productive and rewarding life in NZ. TYT has Takaua Youth Mentors currently studying at university (ages 19 - 24), who have experienced what you're going through at school and at home. They can offer you support, skills in your study, help with your homework or if you need to talk with someone. We also have staff who can assist in providing information for parents who struggle with meeting and understanding the needs of the young at people in their homes.
