One of the few remaining wooden lighthouses in New Zealand. Designed by John Blackett & constructed in 1878. This is a rather unique, designed lighthouse overlooking Caroline Bay & the Pacific. Has a white tower with a red door & red lantern room at the top. A very easy walk or drive from Highway 1 & well worth a visit when passing through Timaru
Beautiful little lighthouse, perched up on the bank with a spectacular view.
It's a very beautiful place to visit. The light house is just simple but elegant. There is a railway just in front of it. Sitting here the whole day won't make you bored. So many people come for a walk with family or the dogs. However, it's very windy around here that may blow your skirt.
Interesting information about this we Light House, walking from the other side of Caroline Bay, track was not quite right on Google for walking lol we Rectified that lovely walk..
