What a surprise to find so much history. Not just tractors, but all sorts of amazing artifacts from NZ history. Well worth a visit. Make sure you get to all the buildings!Visited onWeekendWait time1 hr+Reservation recommendedNo
The Thornbury Vintage Tractor and Implement Club inc is the oldest vintage tractor club in New Zealand as it was formed over 50 years ago by the forsight of three gentlemen, following the recovery and subsequent restoration of a 1914 Avery tractor. This tractor is proudly displayed and is the flagship of the club. Various items tractors, machinery, family mementos etc have been collected and donated to the club over the years, which has resulted in three museum buildings being erected between the mid 60s - mid 90s. The museum is open every Sunday from 1:30 to 4:30 from Labour day weekend untill Queens birthday weekend. Please note I have not been able to visit the club myself due to its opening hours, so my star rating is a place holder only until I can actually tour the site. All things are 5 stars until proven different
A great collection, well displayed and care taken to place information around to show in context. We were lucky to have our guide Tom share his knowledge of the machinery and its uses in this area. Highly recommend to all, not just the tractor buffs.Visited onPublic holidayWait time1 hr+Reservation recommendedNot sure

Our son love this old vintage machine. The people are putting such hard work and passion into restoring it for the public. Such a wonderful place to show my son.
Excellent, great bunch of people running a great museum.
