Guy that served us initially was great. Although not very talkative. We got served fast and the cheesecake we ordered came just after we sat down. Except it was served with plastic forks - something I wouldn't expect from a coffee shop. Not sure where the proper cutlery was. The girl that brought our drinks was very rude. Instead of asking 'is there anything else you're waiting on?' Rather she asked 'is that all?' And took away the table number. Very rude and lack of customer service. Drinks were good and that was the only plus side.
Had a quick stop at Sylvia Park Pac and Save so stopped by here to grab some hot chocolate. The drink was decadent and sweet. It was a bit too hot when I got it but really easy to drink once it cooled down.
I ordered waffles with vanilla ice cream and a hot chocolate. It was deliciously amazing. Excellent customer service from the two lovely staff at Theobroma Sylvia Park Mall. Thanks for making my first experience at Theobroma memorable. Will definitely go back next time I visit Auckland.
Staff dont acknowledge customers and you have to ask to be served. Coffee served in dirty cup, dirty side jug and damaged crockery. Awful place
Was hesitant to return here after my first experience a few years ago was poor. The waffles were dry and the iced chocolate was really runny. Returned here recently and ordered the waffles with bananas and vanilla ice cream and thankfully it was delicious, warm and such a treat. The young guy who works here seems like he doesn't want to be there, customer service can definitely improve.
First and foremost, the chocolate drinks and food are absolutely delicious and to die for. We sometimes go out of our way to go here just for this experience so hands one one of the best chocolate cafe's in town! That being said, we never dine in and always take our drinks away as customer service on the other hand is absolutely ghastly. The staff are very often rude to customers, take their time chatting with their acquaintances rather than serve waiting customers or they simply ignore you when you're trying to flag them down for help. This absolutely needs major improvement if they are to increase dine-in customers - this replacing their dirty and damaged furniture which is very unattractive and unappealing. Also the ceiling is caked in dust and has been like this for some time so a bit of a revamp is in order.

Many mould is on the ceiling. Suggest to clean it asap. The chair is broken and dirty. This is second time to visit but the problems are still existing.
i've ordered one big coffee and one big hot chocolate... ended up with having small coffee. I can understand it's end of the day. Also tables are dirty, counter is dirty and messy as well. taste of hot chocolate is good tho.
The lady serving on Saturday 3rd June was very unfamiliar with the menu and the cabinet food and I found she struggled with ubderstanding my requests, probably due to a language barrier. My iced chocolate lacked any chocolate flavouring, as well as my mocha which was also burnt so it tasted extremely bitter. I love this cafe but my experience at the Silvia Park one was highly disappointing.
