The Woodshed - Locally Owned and Operated



"The Woodshed 2014 is locally owned and operated by real Kiwis, The Woodshed originally opened in 2007 and changed hands to the current owners in 2014. Since taking over the new owners have been heavily investing in the company and putting processes in place with the aim of refining our processes and to continually better ourselves.We have added to our range of firewood so we now regularly stock 6 types of firewood and some types such as beech are available in two different types. In addition to this, we stock 2 types of coal both only available in 20KG bag's. We also have kindling and firelighters."

Staff are friendly, but if you don’t want to go into the store, they’ve also got a website where you can order online. Great product range for buying wood during off-peak seasons. Their buying guides were really helpful, and the delivery is really quick too! 10/10 would recommend to a friend
Great that we can borrow a trailer for free as we live out of town in Waitati, this gives us the option to get the wood home and the trailer back within 2 hours. Just enough time to do the mahi.
Tackled our steep driveway beautifully to drop our load of firewood where it's most convenient for stacking outside to dry. Good quality firewood.
Drove up polite person on desk answered all my questions delivered when they said it would turn up The guy who dropped the wood off made sure all the wood was out of the back even jump in himself to get a small piece that was caught behind cage. Good size bits of wood.
We ordered from here and needed the dry ready to burn wood as we have an infant and it is winter. We had used more of our wood for the year than expected. Unfortunately it arrived and was not burnable yet, it smoked heaps in our fire and was clearly not dry. My partner contacted them to confirm it is supposed to be dry and ready to use and then we both emailed advising we were not happy with the wood that was not ready yet. Neither of us received a reply even though they emailed back almost immediately and answered the questioned about if the wood was ready to burn. Really disappointed in this company. It was delivered promptly and the wood was chopped into good sized pieces so that is the positive.
These guys are great. I live miles away but sometimes just go in to grab a bag of macro for a good yarn. Love the drive through extravaganza. Nice work guys
Just wanted to say thank you to Dunedin Woodshed staff for their dedication to help Dunedin people to stay warm during this difficult time. Their delivery was fast, 2 days after ordering on-line. The amount of wood delivered was generous, definitely dry and with virtually no rubbish. Thank you again for keeping us warm. God bless and stay safe.
Fantastic friendly service and a generous meter of good dry wood, I highly recommend these guys.
Way out? Review incomplete sorry, I struggled to find my way in the warehouse but got it eventually. Good quality of chopped wood or blocks. Definitely coming back Cheers
