One of the best burgers I've had during my 2 months in New Zealand. Wedges were fantastic as well, and the whole meal was very reasonably priced. The Hawaiian burger was really fresh and tasty, and the food didn't take too long. Staff was very friendly, and they seem like they enjoy their job. If you're in the area, you should definitely stop by.

The perfect meal after a drive to and from Cape Rienga! So glad we stopped here. Food was awesome and came quickly. Burgers were large and had great toppings. Loved the bacon too!! Make this your pitstop!
great takeaways and they cook your own caught fish for a good price. i like the gluten free options and low cal cooking oils. it is nice to see a nod to healthier choices
Lovely restaurant with great service and tasty well presented meals served by friendly staff. Also has takeaways serving delicious gourmet burgers and pies made on the premises, as well as a selection of home made cakes and slices etc. Also gluten free options. Well worth a visit on the way up to or back from Te Rerenga Wairua/Cape Reinga situated on the main highway north
We stayed at Pukenui lodge which had a very attractive menu for this place. I looked at the reviews and they were ok so we reserved online. When we arrived, there was a sign saying if you have not booked, we are full. There was 1 couple at a table and a group In the bar area. We sat down at the 2nd table, the only one with cutlery on, confirming we had reserved. The takeaway business was busy and this was clearly the focus. Eventually, someone appeared saying: “chicken, pork or fish.”. I asked about the menu and was told there was none. When I asked about starters, the answer was “gravy?”. I was told there were no starters. We ordered chicken, but pork was served. When I pointed this out, the attitude was “so what?”. The fish and chips was awful: soft not crispy batter, and barely warm fish. Avoid at all costs.
Cheap and delicious, totally recommended after a day dune sliding or otherwise. BBQ Burger is massive. Quick and friendly service. It's a no brainer ...
Place to go when you want something with fresh crisp salad. Or greasy for hang over or a sit down lunch with friends and family. And top marks for the lady's. Excellent customer service.
