Story

The Wakefield Hotel is part of the great NZ cycle taste trail and is located in the small New Zealand township of Wakefield. This small town historic icon was originally built in 1867. Full of character and history, a true friendly kiwi local, somewhere memories are made. October 2017 has seen new management step in and take over the Hotel. Rob and Donna Finlayson are excited to be your new hosts and look forward to meeting and getting to know you all! Your local...Where good times begin!

We really enjoyed our beer in the the very pleasant beer garden after our 4 hour Bush walk. Lovely pub...we will be back.
Great local, cost fire.
A fantastic country pub the staff take the time to chat while taking your food order,they all were friendly a great menu selection ,as well as a blackboard specials.we did not have to wait to long for food and the staff brought our bar orders to the table. A great place for a fabulous family meal

Not a bad place for a birthday celebration, meals were good and very clean and tidy.
We both had a fabulous chicken bacon and pineapple burger today with the best fries to date in Nelson. Great value, brilliant service. Can't wait to visit again in summer and sit out in the sun watching the band.
Great pub, great restaurant, great atmosphere and awesome staff especially Donna. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone I know who is considering a visit to Nelson.
