The Twisted Hop Pub

About

At The Twisted Hop pub you will find our own multi award winning cask conditioned & keg beer with a great food selection to match.

Story

The Twisted Hop opened on the Ferry Road in November 2012. With a history in Christchurch going back to 2004, we are a craft beer pub specialising in English style cask conditioned beer.

Our beers are brewed in Christchurch and are delivered fresh from The Twisted Hop Brewery in Sockburn.

Cask conditioned real ales are chilled to 12 degrees and are served in the traditional manner from the firkin using a beer engine. While undergoing final fermentation in the barrel, the beer is fresh and still alive when it reaches your glass.

Cask conditioned beers are available in riggers (either ours or yours) to 'take away'

We also have a range of Twisted Hop craft keg beers, colder at 4 degrees and available on tap.

A great introduction to Twisted Hop beer is to select a taster tray.

In addition, we offer a changing range of guest craft beer from around New Zealand.

You will find a great food selection from snacks and sharing plates to a la carte, plus daily specials. For your special occasion we can cater for larger groups of up to 40 people in the private mezzanine.

Service was great. Had the squid. Pretty bland. Aioli was good. Chef you need to season your meat. The fish was under seasoned and the pork belly was too. No black pudding. The mash was overly salty. Otherwise all in all not bad.
I picked up a Grab one voucher for $39 which entitled us to two course meals each. Incredible value for the quality of the meat dishes. The steak was done to 'rare' perfection. My compliments to the chef. The staff were kind and attentive and the I really enjoyed the Idaho Hazy.
First table sample menu must be there old menu as the current one for dinner is completely different as they serve tapas, burgers and sides for dinner. Website menu page is broken also. Food was really good highly recommend the country chicken and the beef smokey brisket.
Out for mums birthday a pity they don't have many vegetarian options.... They sprinkle their gnocchi with meat?????
Nice and cosy bar with darts and board games. Great place for a cheeky Sunday session as it feels like you can really just hang out here. Really enjoyed it.
This place was way better than I expected the food served was amazing
Quiet pub when we visited on Monday evening. Helpful staff. Limited menu and no kids options. Food itself was good. Gluten and dairy free options available.
We had fish n chips and salad. Lovely fresh fish with crunchy batter and lovely chips, salad was really nice. And we had brownie for dessert and banana split, the meals were huge and your leftovers can be boxed up and taken ,good value for the money.the staff are friendly and helpful
