This place is so unique and pretty. Nice outside setting. Toilet is quite clean and packed with plenty of towels. Staff is kind and friendly. Flat white is good. Highly recommended for short break.
The Trading Post was one of my favourite dining experiences in New Zealand. It is in a picture perfect location near Lake Wakatipu and the Humboldt Mountains. Once you step inside, you'll feel immediately welcomed with the cosy decor and the welcoming hospitality of the stuff. We tried their oat biscuit, banana bread and the carrot cake, however my favourites were the latter two as they were both lightly sweetened with warming spices. Best of all they had such a soft and melt in your mouth texture! The coffee was also a delight and some of the strongest we had on our trip. If we ever come back to the area we will definitely return here.
I had a coffee here during our visit to Glenorchy. Firstly, they didn’t have a takeaway option. They can only give you takeaway in permanent cups and hold some money for it, then you need to bring the cup back and take your money. Not a good option for a place where most of the customers are tourists. But I’d say this is their choice. But something that I didn’t like was that they charged me 7.5$ for a medium size mocha! That’s more expensive than pretty much all cafes in Auckland. And then the coffee came as super hot, so that I had to take it to outside tables and wait for 10 min, before I can drink it. And you know that at this temperature, both coffee and the milk change their taste and everything. Generally I didn’t like the coffee here at all.
We have been to this cafe around 2 years ago and it was really amazing and still the quality of service was not changed. I strongly recommend this hidden gem, it won't let you down. Please try cappucino or mocha with a brownie and chocolate chip cookie. Definitely it is worth to visit. Great service, we will come back again.
Nice wee cafe with very cute interior. They have available gifts for all ages inside. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Coffee long black and cappuccino are both good. Food: 5/5
Cute little cafe. Amazing food, vegetarian options available, plenty of parking available, free Wi-Fi. Great selection of books about local flora.
Avoid this place. Forces you to buy their recyclable coffee cups. Owner does not understand business. Coffee is only ok. Thumbs down.
What a great find on our trip to Glenorchy. The decor is comfy yet trendy, full of books to leaf through and sheepskins on benches to keep you warm, coffee’s great, and we loved the house made desserts including the carrot cake that we took to the waterfront to enjoy after our jet boat adventure!
Love their tuna melt, banana loaf, and hot choco on a cold and rainy day. Cool place. A must go to.
Excellent stop to make in Glenorchy! The service was outstanding. The food was great. Perfect, fresh cake! Amazing coffee! And comfortable, quiet atmosphere. All while taking in the breathtaking views that Glenorchy has to offer. They were also accommodating to dietary restrictions.
