The food was lovely, and the chicken tacos were particularly delicious. A decent sized portion for lunch. The service was very slow, but they were clearly low on staff and overworked. They still served us with a smile and were very friendly. It was clearly a popular place. It's just a shame of the location it's in. The town is seriously rundown, with very little going on. I think if they were situated in a more cosmopolitan area, it would be packed all day long.
We got the surf and turf with mushroom sauce - the steak was cooked perfectly and the surf was delicious. The taste was great and the service was even better! They have a huge menu with lots to choose from - I recommend the brownie!Recommended dishesSurf and Turf
Stopped at The Thirsty Weta Bar & Eatery for a lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and so were the drinks. We had Chicken Toastie and B.L.A.T. and both were absolutely delicious. The Banana Blueberry smoothie was amazing. Highly recommend you stop at The Thirsty Weta Bar & Eatery on your way to or from Waitomo caves.
This place was kind and let us dine without a booking despite being very busy! We waited a long time for food but otherwise it was great and started me on a love affair with Halloumi. Kid-friendliness: We were traveling with our 10 yr old and 20 year old and they were both welcome. Dietary restrictions: We’re pescatarian and found plenty to eat.
A very tasty place for a spot of food. Decent portion prices which I think make up for the slightly high price. Lovely staff and great environment to sit for a while and catch up with friends. Would recommend! We ordered the fish and chips and the all day breakfast and both were very tasty and big!Food: 5/5
Absolutely stellar experience. We had the 'Hereford Scotch Fillet' which was cooked to perfection. However, the star of the show was the 'Chicken Ala Weta' which blew us away; such incredible flavours and numerous elements which singled it out as an absolute winner - of particular note, the pumpkin ravioli was to die for. Well worth the wait time. To round off the lovely dining experience, the service was both friendly and efficient.
Had our dinner here.. Was good food ... They have gluten free food aswell, It was a Tuesday so all the Desserts was only $8 for their SWEET TOOTH TUESDAY.. was happy dessert was lovely.. Go there on a tuesday for cheap dessertFood: 4/5
The food was delicious and great amounts. We did ask for the jalapeños on the side of the pizza but they never brought it out. The place is a lovely pub but we found the music a bit too loud and it made it hard to have a conversation and it was a Sunday night not a Friday or Saturday. Otherwise we were served quickly and the wait star were great.
My first time in New Zealand , and Luckily had the chase to taste the best food and restaurant during this trip ! Great service, excellent food , and great prices , I will definitely visit again if will come back to this country again !
Friendly staff. The food was awesome! It was a little busy when we went in so we expected a delay on our mains but they came out really fast. Super happy about that. The pork belly bites with the sauce was amazing Only bad thing was the jug of beer we ordered. Wanted a golden lager and we got the closest thing to it. Not a fan. But great for those who like their craft type beers with strong flavor. Just a personal preference thing
