Best Tom Yum we've ever had!! We don't get to Mangōnui often, but we've got a good reason to come back, now. Delicious food with generous portion sizes. Left feeling thoroughly stuffed and satisfied. If you're a real fan of spice, pick the "bloody hot" option to get your lips and tongue tingling! Duck curry was smooth and creamy, and the sizzling beef was tender and went fantastic with the coconut rice - highly recommended!
Surprisingly good Thai restaurant especially given the scarcity of local food outlets. We had the Pad Thai & the fried fish. Pad Thai is pretty much the same regardless of where you go. The fish was unusual in that it was pieces of fish as opposed to a full fish. All in all, a good example of a Thai restaurant in a surprising setting.
Wait staff was very knowledgeable about vegan options, super friendly, and the food was delicious, the waterfront views were great, what more can you ask for? Vegetarian options: Clearly marked veg options with many that can be veganized
Honestly... the best Thai we have had in NZ. We wish there was something this good in Auckland, it would be a weekly visit. All the seafood dishes were fresh, soft and full of flavour. The duck was phenomenal. The beef was soft and grill of flavour. The Tom Yum was one of the best we have had, we just wish we got the ‘bloody hot’. If you like hot food, go for ‘bloody hot’. Come open up a restaurant in Auckland please! And show them how Thai food should be. Thank you very much The Thai team! Don’t change a thing.
Ordered food at 5:05pm after being one of the first in the door, only to be told after paying, that the food wouldn't be ready until 6:25pm - pretty ridiculous as we only ordered 2 meals... I'm sure the food will make a nice lunch tomorrow as we elected to have fish and chips for dinner instead which was ordered, made, and eaten by 5:45. Not sure why the food took so long to make, but giving 2 stars for now because I'm hoping it was worth the wait.
Absolutely without a doubt the best Thai food ever. Keep going back, this is a must and you will certainly find somerhing on the diverse menu to satisfy your palate. Service is impeccable the food to die for, high quality dining.Food: 5/5

Probably one of the tastiest Thai restaurants we've been to. The food was excellent and prices reasonable. We went twice in the three evenings we were in Mangonui and was amazed at just how busy the place was-both in- house and for take-aways. On both occasions people who just turned up- unbooked-were unable to get a table. Staff could have been a little friendlier but they were just so busy!
Amazing food 1st time & Amazing food yet again.. this place is punching out probably the best Thai in the country, & it shows as it is packed with people every night & the ph doesn't stop ringing for takeaway either. Definitely worth eating here.
Food was nice but it would be the worst service ever. We booked in advance and were told we could have our choice as they had no other bookings so chose 5.30 but when we turned up were told our party of 9 had to be out by 7pm. They delivered our mains while we were still eating our appetizers and were told they were out of desert but I suspect they just wanted us gone. I will not return as it spoilt a special nite out
