The Summer House is located in Rotorua, nestled in the private back garden of our property in the peaceful neighbourhood of Tihi-O-Tonga.
It's only 5km from central city,1km from the best mountain bike tracks in the country, and 1/2 km from Te Puia and the Whakarewarewa geothermal area.
The Summer House is a self-contained, architecturally designed studio with simple yet stylish décor.
During your stay, a delicious self serve continental breakfast is provided including home made cereals and baking, yogurt and fruits, fresh coffee, juice, a selection of teas and other sweet treats. The studio also has a well equipped kitchen if you wish to cook your own meals or use of a bbq or weber.
Rotorua has many good restaurants we can recommend, and most only a few minutes drive.
All linen and towels are provided and also internet, tv and stereo. A very comfortable new queen size bed, a two seater sofa and a moonpod armchair make for a relaxing evening.
The landscaped garden and private spa area is a lovely place to relax while listening to the tuis and other birds.
Our neighbourhood is quiet and safe. There is only one road in so there is also very little traffic. Just a few meters down the road is the best view in Rotorua which overlooks Lake Rotorua and Mokoia Island. It is at the start of the Rotorua Tree Trust which is a huge area planted and landscaped with lovely walks.
Rotorua is a fantastic place to visit. There is so much to do and it is like no other place in New Zealand. Being in the central North Island it is also very well located to visit other areas. If forests, beaches ,mountains, lakes, tramping, biking, bushwalks, geothermal hot springs, luging, ziplining, maori culture, wildlife, wining and dining, skiing, rafting, relaxing (to name just a few!!!) sound like you then you better get here!
Your hosts (Jess and Barry) are very knowledgeable and passionate about our city and can help you select the excursions and locations which will help you make the most of your time here.
Price: $140 per night, breakfast included. Minimum 2 night stay.
