I was very disappointed with my first and last order from The South African Shop.nnI specifically wanted biltong and Campher cream. I looked at a few places and was so happy when they had both.nnI wanted the pottle of Ingram's Campher cream the moisture plus white pot. Which is what I selected. Unfortunately they didn't send the pottle I ordered, but the lotion. I don't want the lotion. The lotion is very thin and runny and you can never get all of it out. At $13 I want to get every single drop.nnGetting rooibos pure tea is so difficult. Almost all of the packets sold is for rooibos infusion. I was so so happy when I saw rooibos pure, that I ordered it. Imagine how disappointed I was when they send me rooibos infusion. This is not what I ordered.nnI also ordered Five Roses African Blend tea. I love a strong tea. I haven't had this in a while and was so looking forward to it. When I made it, it was very weak and bland. It wasn't as I remembered. That's when I noticed the expiry date was already about 15 months ago. Of course tea made in 2023 is not going to be good.nnI also specifically asked for fatty biltong, but what I got was quite dry. The taste is good, but it wasn't what I wanted.nnI ordered the goods on Friday, I got my confirmation and tracking number on Monday, and had the delivery by Tuesday. It would have been awesome if I received what I ordered. I would rather wait another day or two for the right things, than have fast shipping of the wrong thing and expired goods.nnI sent an email to express my utter dissatisfaction.nnNoleen called me to apologise, which I can appreciate. She said that in winter time all the meat is very lean. She thought the lotion and the pottle was the same thing. She also checked the warehouse and saw that the rooibos pure and rooibos infusion came in the same container, which caused confusion.nnShe offered to replace the rooibos. She also offered to replace the expired 2 year old tea with tea that expired more recently in March. That was odd. Why not replace it with fresh or new tea? She said that nobody has the pots of Campher and she will give me a refund for that. Great solution.nnShe sent a shipping label to my email and asked that I return the incorrect and expired goods.nnAs much as I appreciate that, it is such an inconvenience for me. I work night shift. For me to print the label, I would have to sit awake after my shift and wait 2 hours for the library or post office to open. Or I have to break up my sleep and get up before they close Then pay to print the label, repack it and wait for the courier.nnI'm working until Sunday. Monday I'm going to hospital for a small operation, and the next Monday I'm leaving on holiday for two weeks. I just don't have time to fix their mistakes.nnAt this point I'll just cop the loss and just not order from them again.
The BEST biltong I have tried so far in New Zealand. We went in for the first time today, got to try all the flavours and are now obsessed with the Garlic and Chutney varieties. RUN DON'T WALK TO THIS STORE!

Amazing biltong! We’re always greeted by Caryn who is so friendly. Love this shop, the variety and people make it feel like home!
I ate too much biltong in a single sitting and gave myself stomach cramps, I proceeded to do this again as I refuse to learn from my mistakes when biltong is involved.
