Sand Motel is situated in the picturesque Whangaumu Bay, Tutukaka. The small sheltered bay usually provides safe swimming conditions for the whole family, Whangaumu Bay is a 30 minute drive from Whangarei and supermarkets. There are 2 local stores situated a 5 minute drive away, either at Ngunguru, or Tutukaka. There are dining options at Ngunguru, either at the Sports Complex Tues - Sundays and at Salt Air Café. Tutukaka offers 2 restaurants at Oceans or Schnappa Rock, Marina Pizzeria on the marina and a Bistro meal at The Galley within the Deep Sea Anglers Club. There are fishing charters and dive trips available at the Tutukaka Marina area too.
