WAS AMAZING!!nI’ve been away from England for around 4 months and haven’t had a chippy since. Me and my friends rocked up and ordered our meals and the lady there was so nice and showed my the different fish as I was a bit unsure as it wasn’t like my normal options back home but OMG THAT GOUARRD or something of the sort was exceptional tasted like the one back home genuinely brought a tear to my eye. PLEASE GO WAS AMAZING AHHHH such a lovely group of workers even giving us broccoli samples . LOVE LOVE LOVED IT CANNOT RECOMMEND IT ENOUGH!!
Just got the $40 family pack, 3 fish, 2 hotdogs and 2 scoops. More like 4 scoops of chunky fries! The homemade tartare sauce was just to die for and everything else was well cooked and very fresh. Would give more stars if I couldvisiting from Wellington
Went here after being recommended. Disappointed is an understatement. Forgot my burger followed up twice. It appeared that stuff was being missed from a lot of orders. Jam wrap was dry and not eatable. Chips were ok. Don’t recommend would rather go hungry.
Sands used to be our weekly stop for fish and chips. Not anymore, since the new owners the service is terrible. Firstly the lady on the phone couldn’t understand 2 scoops of chips. Then what a surprise the order was incorrect. We then waited another 20 minutes for them to cook. We open the food and it was wrong. No idea what was gluten free. I’ll make that the last time.
We usually visit Nelson twice a year and always enjoy having fish and chips at Sands and it is really good usually sit outside the shop at the picnic table last week we decided to do a takeaway and consumed it at our accommodation. We had three pieces Tarakihi three scoops of chips and four scallops cost just over $60 do not mind paying for a good feed but this time I do not know what went wrong but it was not good the fish was not nice at all the chips were not much better the scallops were very small it was disappointing I do not complain unless I have a good reason to. We will try again next time we are in Nelson hopefully it will be like it used to be
