Welcome to the Sandcastle!

We have 6 self- contained chalets set in a peaceful gardens and native bush in beautiful Golden Bay, NZ.

Golden Bay is located between The Kahurangi and Abel Tasman National Parks at the top of the South Island. All of the stunning scenery, beaches, walks and attractions of the bay are just a short distance away from your chalet.

Take time and explore our site and you will find 'The Sandcastle' is unique. You will find our accommodation is an excellent value, with use of sauna and spa complex included in the price.

A lovely relaxing place to catch up with yourself. No, it's not picture perfect and manicured but who needs that. We enjoyed 4 nights here, Steve was a great host, and it would be our first choice if we come back to Golden Bay

It is pet friendly and that's fantastic. Has great views. Not far from a nice beach that you can't walk dogs on the cabins where dirty and in need of maintenance. Steve is a lovely bubbly person who is very much into to lifestyle.
Steve the host is so lovely, super hospitable, nothing is too much trouble, warm, personable and a dab hand at making wood oven pizzas. The location and place is, stunning, stones throw to the beach, on site yoga, studio, yurts to hire and cozy cottages. 10/10
Nice little cottage - had a well-provisioned kitchen too. A great place to stop while traveling to / from Abel Tasman / Heaphy Great Walks.
Steve was an amazing host for our stay at the sandcastle. We loved our evening using the pizza oven with our friends, a highlight of our holiday. Steve did everything to make us feel at home and comfortable. This place is a hidden treasure of the golden bay. See you next time!
Delightful little self contained cottages, just a short walk to Golden sands.
Plenty of room with a boho flair. Close to the beach and ton of gorgeous swimming spots like Taka beach and plenty of natural river pools. The host is really nice and accomodating.
