Come for the beers, the selection won't disappoint. Food was okay...would not get the burgers again but other selections were good. They do have some vegetarian options. Service was excellent considering how busy they are. Would recommend.Food: 3/5
I like the ambience of this place. They have a lot of beers on tap and you can even do a beer taste platter if you can’t decide. Seems like they are pretty busy during happy hour with a lot of happy hour deals I see on the walls but we came here during lunchtime. Overall the food was just ok. If you’re here just for the beer and table snacks, I would recommend this place but if you’re here for the food, don’t have too high expectations. We ordered the BBQ pork buns and pork & prawn dumplings. These were my biggest disappointment because I read some reviews saying their dumplings were awesome. No they were not. The skin on the dumplings were so thick and the fillings in the buns were so little. The filling vs bun ratio on the pork buns was just sad. On the other hand, the onion rings were good and the wok begets were ok as well. That’s why I would say this place is a good bar spot. Not so much a restaurant spot for me.
Great little locally owned, 2nd generation brewery with an awesome beverage selection of nearly 40 different tap options to choose from including beers, ciders and RTDs. Food is served from Johnny’s dumpling house which was also delicious. They offer a wide variety of dumpling options with the option to choose its cooking style pan fried, deep fried or steamed. They also offer burgers, tacos and various bar snacks to share such as salt n pepper calamari, cheese and gravy curly fries and jalapeño poppers. Would highly recommend.
Visiting Rising Tide is always a treat when in Tauranga. Parking can be a bit of a mare but its definitely worth finding one. Absolutely delicious foods, vegan and vegetarian options alongside the usual meaty choices. Highly recommend the dumplings, they are always amazing and generously sided. The Jalapeno poppers were also banging. Plenty of drinks to choose from, lots of ciders, beers and alternates. Highly recommend the rhubarb cider. Always super busy so recommend a table booking if you can plan ahead.
The food here is amazing, full of flavour, good selection for vegan aswel. We visited with my son while on vacation from the U.K. I think we ordered pretty much everything from the menu. The drinks choices were good also. Happy funky vibe, nice place for the younger generation.
Very good burger deal for 14$ each wednesday. You can chose between vegan or beef burger, with fries. Many kind of beer/cider in this deal. The workers are really nice and friendly, they do their best for us to have a good moment here. Good music and heat lamp Vegetarian options: Vegan burger
Went out for dinner with my parents and my partner. Despite it being a super busy Easter weekend night, the service was impeccable and the food was both quick to come and extremely well done. We ordered a large range of items from the menu, and it ALL exceeded our expectations. Prices were also extremely reasonable. The live music was also fantastic, and the atmosphere is great both inside and out. Staff were super friendly and accommodating, and are all clearly passionate service professionals. I love that chalk was provided for the children to doodle on the path outside, clearly a family friendly joint. Whilst I don't personally drink anymore, they had a great selection of wine and an impressive roster of beer on tap. My partner also ordered a "trust the bartender" cocktail, which she loved. 10/10 Experience, will absolutely be coming back and recommending this spot to everyone we know. Thanks for the incredible night!
Great food, huge selection of beers and ciders, and a good atmosphere. Everything was heading to a 4 rated review, until the end.....7 of us had ordered plenty of food and some drinks I would recommend the Blackbeard Coffee Stout and to finish up we wanted to order the cocktail of the day "espresso martini". I requested 3 espresso martinis at the bar to be snapped back at by the barman "not doing cocktails....". Almost every table in the place had a sign saying "espresso martinis all day Sunday" which I pointed out to the bar staff, to be told "we're not doing them". I asked why every table had a sign advertising them and was told that they weren't sure. I said it might be a good idea to remove the signs but was told that it was above their pay grade and it wasn't her problem. One of the bar staff said she would make us the cocktails but was told by another staff member she couldn't. I asked to have the managers name so I could highlight the issue to avoid future customer disappointment. Rosanna L who was the duty manager appolgised about the lack of cocktails as it was caused by them running out of ice. I would happily taken this as a valid reason if it wasn't for the fact the bar area is connected directly to a Superliquor store which sells bags of ice....As this was at 7.30pm and they don't close until 10pm on a Sunday I was surprised that ice was no longer available. As I indicated in the title, great place apart from the attitude of a couple of staff members and lack of essential products needed to run a bar/restaurant smoothly.
Food was okay and the beers nice, but the staff weren't the best. Wasn't busy when we went, but the staff seemed a bit inattentive and not friendly. We were waiting at the front where a sign says to wait to be seated, but we had 3 or 4 staff go past without saying a word. We had to just take some menus, and go find a seat ourselves. Even after sitting down it took a while for a staff member to come find us and brought us some water, but again without saying a word. Not even a goodbye or a thank you as we left either. tldr: food amd beer okay, staff not good.
We had a nice time at the rising tide. The food was good and it had a great chill atmosphere Food: 4/5
