Was skeptical about my visit regarding the mixed reviews. But I went ahead anyway because they are located in such a beautiful place. I had a drink with chips with garlic aioli. It was delicious, the service was very friendly. There ample of parking available as well. I would go back again :
Went for lunch/ drinks with 3 friends. It took some time for anyone to come and take our drink orders. 2 of us arrived after the others, but were shown to the table We ordered food at the same timeas the last two drinks.The young woman that took our order was really not familiar with the drinks menu and asked a couple of time as to what we ordered and after some time came back to check on what we had ordered. They brought only one of the bubbles ordered and we had to chase the other.nFood was delicious. Ordered Pizza and they were yummy. No one came to check on us during the meal and once again had to look for someone to order another drink. There appeared to be no system as far as staff and area allocation was concerned.nSome staff tried to rectify things and were very pleasent.nWould I go back again.....possibly, but with no expectations of good service and if I was on a tight time frame.nOnce again Pizza delicious.nPrice average. 3 drinks, a bowl of chips and Pizza $78
Had a nice relaxing lunch here today. Nice spot with views over the river. Relaxing atmosphere, and friendly service. Food was great. It was a hot day, and we loved being outside with plenty of shade options. Would definitely come back.
We held our out of town Fire Brigade Christmas Dinner at your venue on Saturday, 22 November 2025. From start to finish, it was a wonderful experience. Your staff were friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful, and the food service was outstanding. The meals were delicious, and our group of approximately 25–30 people were all impressed.nWell worth traveling too.nnA big thank you to your team — you were awesome. I’m usually not one to write reviews, but my experience left me genuinely disappointed. I had a reservation for 6:30pm, and from the moment we arrived things went downhill. The only staff member available was behind the bar, so we joined the queue, which already had several people waiting. After about 10 minutes, the bartender told us we’d need to find the waiter ourselves.nnWe spotted her beside the bar assisting some other guests with the menu. Once she finished, she made direct eye contact with us standing right in front of her… and then simply walked off without acknowledging us. At this point, we had been inside for around 15 minutes and had still received no service whatsoever.nnTo make things worse, the atmosphere was uncomfortable, with a staff member yelling out raffle numbers at the top of her lungs. I accept some responsibility for not realising it was raffle night, but the volume was so excessive that it completely dominated the restaurant.nnConsidering the chaos inside and the fact we’d gotten nowhere after 15 minutes, we decided to leave and spend our money at another Kaiapoi restaurant that actually appreciated our business. As soon as we arrived at the other restaurant, we were greeted at the door and seated within 30 seconds—despite having no booking and it being a busy night. It’s really not hard.nnIt’s a real shame that a venue in such a great location has such poor customer service. I work in customer service myself, and I would be appalled to learn that guests were treated the way we were in my company.
