Everything lovely and clean. Enjoyed our stay as units warm despite rather cold weatherRooms: 5/5
A resort that once would’ve been a great place to stay, today shows signs of age and is hardly a luxury place to stay. The beds are as hard as concrete the tv is tiny and who uses DVD players nowadays. It does have a great location and if you’re lucky to get a lower unit then you can have views close to a stream that has trout and ducks swimming in it. It’s no where near the best Wanaka has to offer but not bad. The pool and spa are a great addition. Rooms: The units have two bedrooms one with a queen’s size bed and one with two singles. hard as bricks Walkability: It’s an easy walk to the lake front and to most of the area’s restaurants and bars and the local supermarket.
Must be one of the most well equipped and comfortable units we had all round. The view from the bedroom is stunning and the units are well situated near town. Can highly recommend it. Rooms: Spacious carpeted enough hanging and packing space. Fantastic view. . Walkability: For those who enjoy walking, about a 20 minute walk to town. Noteworthy details: Bicycles available for free and a safe area. some other free activities and luxuries also available.
Great venue up the hill. About 10 min stroll down to lake. Many facilities, all readily available. Great managers. Comfortable beds, and well appointed dining and kitchen area. To be fair the rooms are looking dated, but overall a great place to stay
What a lovely resort. Enjoyed the facilities. Great indoor saltwater pool. Nice and deep. Spa was good and hot too! Rooms had underfloor heating which kept everything cosy. Wonderful patio areas. Plenty of fluffy towels provided and place is immaculately kept. Comfy beds. Grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed the miniputt and half tennis was fun as well. Thanks for a lovely stay. Township is so relaxing and welcoming. And Austin at the paddleboard and kayak hire was great. Definitely go get out on the water. Roy's peak is not for the average hike, but on a stunning day.... OMG the views. Love love Wanaka and will be back to the beautiful Pines resort for sure.
This is one of the very best resorts I have stayed in. It has a huge number of amenities for all the family. I specifically enjoyed the indoor heated swimming pool and spa at this cooler time of year. The service is excellent, and there are excellent views of the mountains and lake. A very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.
Perfectly located, close enough to the lake front and nightlife 6to 8 minutes but far enough that you can have a nice rest at night. Also great outdoor areas including a nice bbq area, pool and spa pool, trampoline, gigantic chess set, tennis and table tennis court and a play ground for the little ones
I own here at this resort so I can give you an honest review. Firstly our on site managers Lynley and Maurice they are so welcoming and nothing is ever a problem if you need help or require some attention or knowledge about everything Wanaka they"ve almost been there since it was built 32 years ago. Beautiful park like setting with gardens to die for. Fully heated covered swimming pool and sauna also a family spa room for more privacy. Fancy mini golf, outdoor chess or a game of petanque French bowls half tennis court, basket ball hoop, trampoline, fabulous BBQ area and playground at the back for the little ones. Units sleep up to max 7 full kitchen/ dining and a luxury deep bath to sooth any aches from your winter skiing or summer tramping/walks. So handy to walk to the village and it there is only one WARNING.... if you go and stay you will not want to leave. I give it 10/10 but hey why take my word for it...try it yourself. But this resort has a 99.8% occupancy all year round so space is extremely limited.
The town of Lake Wanaka is amazing. Our resort was equally amazing. We had two stories with two bedrooms. The view was breathtaking! You can easily walk to town, no need to ride bikes. Grocer, interesting movie house, lake, golf, and cafes are right in the same area. We loved the resort's swimming pool/Jacuzzi area which was in a solarium, game room, basketball court, tennis court, and feeding the ducks at the creek. They have many suitable bikes with gear available as well as mini golf and trampoline. The pictures do not do this property justice. It looks more summer camp in the photos...in actuality it is more contemporary lodge. All appliances, inside, bathrooms, and living quarters are quite contemporary. There was laundry facilities in our unit, towel warmers, bed warmers, and plenty of towels. The main bedroom looked over the glorious Lake Wanaka and mountain range. Enclosed was our very own picnic area and in the bathroom and Jacuzzi sized bathtub. We had many activities to do around and within Wanaka. You should rent a car, no worries about driving on the left. Since there is not much traffic, the learning curve is easy. By renting a car, you can enjoy the countryside. Head out to the Western Region or head South. The drives are gorgeous and fun. Overall, we hope to have more beautiful experiences like the one we had in New Zealand. Our resort made it even more relaxing and enjoyable.
The Pines is within walking distance to Wanaka town. Check-in was quick and simple. Accommodation is very comfortable, well equipped and clean. We had a view of the lake and of course the mountains. I would definitely recommend The Pines to anyone.
