Great food Great staff, fantastic new owners who are doing the place up. Terrific atmosphere. Going to get back there sometime.Food: 5/5
I like this pub. My local. Had a change in owners. Food top notch. Missed my berry cider though. Love the outdoor area. Plenty of parking. Can get busy, crowded. Great vibe.
Sunday afternoon family meal . 7 adults and 3 kids under 7. Great music great service from all staff including the owner/ chef. All our meals arrived together. The meals were great value for money and very tasty and yummy. This country pub has a green atmosphere. We will be back
Friendly staff and the food was exceptional. The fish was fresh and cooked to perfection, chicken was juicy and flavourful. But the soup, oh my god, the homemade tomato soup is thee best soup I have ever had. My Mum and daughter agreed. I think I’ll be driving out to Leithfield every time I visit Christchurch now, just to have another bowl of the lovely chef’s tomato soup.
Moved into the area and had a nice meal in the bar. Great value $15 Tuesday. We arrived late but they still sorted us out. Really welcoming and good hearty food. Will head back for more. Thanks.
Fab food great garden bar and friendly staffFood: 5/5
We went to The Old Leithfield Hotel for dinner on a busy Saturday night super rugby final with our 5 month old baby. Even though we didn't have a booking the friendly wait staff went out of their way to accommodate us and made sure we were comfortable. We both had the roast which was generous and delicious. The beef was tender and the veges perfect it was the best pub experience with a young baby, and the best roast beef. We also had the salt and pepper squid entree which was fantastic. Perfectly tender and crispy! Thank you very much to the team at The Old Leithfield Hotel.
Our local pub for 20 years just had new owners so we decided to go down for the night and have a meal and a few drinks to support them Nice reception from one of the owners when we were ordering from the bar, thanks. After 1 hour our starters had not come out so I went back into ask where they were, finally they arrived at our table. There were 3 of us eating at our table, 2 of the mains arrived, we waited 10 mins and the third did not arrive I went to the kitchen and asked as to the whereabouts of the 3rd main and was told there was a hold up as a customer who had food intolerance had come in, the kitchen had to be shut down for 30 mins cleaning, I said how does that effect our third dish, the guy in the kitchen was very abrupt so I asked to speak to the owner, the guy in the kitchen said I am one of the owners, I said you should not talk to customers in that way He said forget your third dish Nachos and the walked back to the kitchen with the nachos I was shocked and walked back over to a table full of local people and explained what had just happened, next over my left shoulder the person who was in the kitchen was standing very very close to me shouting, yes shouting get out, I said get out what for, he said just get out It was a very intimidating experience and the man was clearly totally out of control, all the others at the table saw his appalling actions Shocking abusive behaviour from one of the new owners I am totally perplex as to how anyone can think that this is acceptable in a service industry in this day and age
We always have a fantastic weekend lunch here...service is fantastic food is huge portions atmosphere is fantastic and the garden area is one to behold...the pungas and native ferns are glorious....100% recommend to both couples for a lovely "together" lunch or families with children.
Absolutely one of my favourite places, recently went their for our anniversary hospitality is amazing, but the food has to be the highlight! Absolute delight we got 2 starters and a main to share, all presented fabulous as I eat with my eyes first, and everything was cooked to perfection!
