Service was great. Was busy but didn’t wait too long. My crispy skin salmon wasn’t crispy and I had two bones . They replaced it, the skin was better but not as good as it could be. And second time round the salmon was cooked on the outside and cold and raw on the inside. Not very consistent food prep. Great atmosphere though. Would I recommend? For service probably.
Popped in for a coffee and cake on the run. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Lovely spot and would like to go back for lunch.
Have been for brunch and dinner and both times the food, service and atmosphere was excellent.
Ordered eggs bene with bacon and salmon, side of fries and salt&pepper squid... overall average menu. $10 for what seemed like half a cup of fries...i wouldnt order the squid again. Cost between $70-$80 coke and ice coffee included
Great menu, lovely staff, delicious food. The Forge is consistently a great place to stop and enjoy wonderful food in a beautiful setting. The staff are really wonderful and the owner Treena is warm and welcoming, also she knows what great hospitality looks like and executes it so very well. Parking: Plenty of parking Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access Dietary restrictions: The menu can be changed to suit most needs.
Wonderful service from the delightful staff, and owners who were more than happy to stop and chat. The coffee was amazing and our breakfasts arrived promptly, always helpful with a 5 year old. Colouring in activities and pencils arrived as well and a children's menu which was not advertised on their website, so that was a huge bonus. Our breakfasts were very tasty and exactly as described in the menu. There are so many extra things to browse here make sure you allow extra time and don't forget to check out "the wall" such an interesting thing to see. We'll be back soon and next time we'll check out the very popular outside area. Well done to everyone involved in this project, you're a great team.
Four of us had a wonderful lunch at this place recently. The service was absolutely outstanding, the staff were very friendly, helpful & keen to provide us with information about our meals. The menu selection was comprehensive & the food presentation & the meals were all considered excellent. We will certainly return. Many thanks.
Delicious food, well presented and excellent service. Serving sized perfect for 3 courses and the deserts are great, recommend the cheesecake. It's not far off the 'main road, and worthy of the slight detour if your in the area. Highly recommended.
Dined here twice in the last six weeks. Didn't have reservations for our lunch group of eight. Was really busy but they rearranged tables to fit us in, was before midday so probably helped. Great Fish and Chips. Visited again for dinner, with reservations this time. Presentation was awesome as was the service. The Pork Belly was delicious. The Cointreau Cheesecake was devine. They change the cheesecake flavour regularly, so I need to return soon. Definitely worth a stop.
The 'Old Forge Kitchen' is a stunning new building that has kept key aspects of its history. It has a very clean, fresh & tidy decor which has been extremely well laid out. The food was tasty & well presented. The team were very pleasant & in so doing also making it a treat to eat here. This for us will be the place to eat when in Te Aroha as its only a 5 minute drive to get there on Alexandra rd Thankyou we will be back Parking: Easy access from both directions
