The Monkey House Theatre can be hired for private functions, groups and comes with a licensed bar. We run films on a Friday once a month, and run other events such as the NZ Short Film Festival coming up again in January

We went on Wednesday night which is usually an open mic night. Whitianga has an amazing amount of talent in all genres, we stayed to the end as the musicians came together after 10 pm and jammed until nearly midnight. There is a very well appointed bar, the atmosphere is casual and relaxed, and even the odd dog enjoys a generous amount of attention. We will be returning
Hubby & I had a great night at the monkey house on Monday 29th May One down side was for a small place the music volume while waiting for the act it was horrendously loud. Plus the comedians volume from the was very loud. Don't mind volume but not where there's vibration from speech. We of course will come again it's a good night out. Thanks for the work you do
