The Mandarin Tree is a unique and vibrant art gallery located in Gordonton, just North of Hamilton nnThe Owner and Gallery Curator is a lovely lady who started the gallery in 2014nnOver the past decade, she has supported emerging and established artists by featuring a large variety of work including paintings ceramics, prints, sculptures, garden art, and her own beehive artworks. It proudly represents over 75 artists from all over New Zealand nnI was very pleasantly surprised to find the garden at the back of the gallery, which holds many beautiful garden art pieces At first the framed door looked like a glorious portrait, but then you step through into a world of wonderment nnThe gallery is a true oasis of tranquillity and beauty, and I'm so happy I stumbled upon it by chance, on my way somewhere else and decided to stop in
I have driven past this place for two years so checked out while waiting for the milk truck. Wow! Presents ticked off. All local Kiwi only art, pottery, ceramics and sculptures. No junkie regurge here. The secret garden is to be revisited.

Very helpful mother and daughter team running the gallery. There are pieces for people of all tastes and budgets. There was a fabulous piece in my opinion of a tui where the artist had used ground glass as the medium - unfortunately it was beyond my budget
