Fuming, went into the mall briefly and 3 days later get a $65 parking ticket. I’m not local and didn’t assume it’s pay for parking as I go to Lower Hutt mall all the time. It’s cheaper to drive to Lower Hutt and back and go to a decent mall as-well. $65 is well steep for mall parking ticket. Clearly it’s the only way they make money as they have like 6 shops.
I parked at this mall for 20 mins to buy a knee pad. I was send a $65 parking ticket in the post. I sent an email explaining that I was a customer and had spent money at the mall but they still forced me to pay them the $65. I will never go back!

I was send a $65 parking ticket in the post. confused I emailed them saying there must have been a mistake as I parked in a mall car park and it’s literally Upper Hutt who would pay for parking in Upper Hutt when there is free parking on the streets everywhere?? I sent receipts to show that I was a customer and had spent money at the mall but they still forced me to pay them the $65. Anyway the struggling mall purposefully makes it unclear that it’s payed parking so that you don’t realise and they get some extra revenue from parking tickets. Disgraceful. Will never go back here
The mall owner wants to create more revenue via ripping off customers - congratulations, you are digging your own grave.nnAs the title suggests, I am very upset with the $65 parking ticket that I have recently received.nnMy issue is this,nn- I have received a $65 parking ticket for 30 mins of parking which would've cost me a $1 parking fee. To be fair, YES - the mall owner has the right to charge people for the car park service that they provide even though no other mall in Christchurch nor Wellington does this, however, charging people $65 for a $1 parking fee is simply ridiculous.nn- As shown in the photos attached, I can read the 5HR sign at the carpark entrance, but the words and sentences to indicate that they now charge for the carpark are too small to read. There needs to be clear & bigger signs! I suggest putting another warning sign next to MAX HEIGHT 2.1 METERS same font, colour and size.nn- There were hardly any vehicles in the carpark. In fact, the carpark is virtually empty most of the time.nn- Nobody is available to discuss/receive complaints. I've tried calling the mall multiple times, failed to find their office in the mall and the mall manager is not even answering his mobile phone.nnOnce again, congratulations on digging your grave. MARK MY WORDS People in Wellington will not support your ridiculous behaviour.
65$ parking ticket for staying 2min over. Cafes mid and overpriced only good thing is the wearhouse. Save your time and money don’t park or shop there. If you get a parking ticket at the mall you don’t have to pay it they can’t legally make you pay. You can also remove your car identity from 3rd parties like smart compliance NZ so they can’t send you a fine ;nI’ve paid this fine but a good lesson for people that gotten these kinds of tickets is that you don’t have to pay them and can also remove your car identity from 3rd parties https://transact.nzta.govt.nz/transactions/PersonalInfoAccess/entry ;;
