Had a beautiful lunch here with a friend over a nice chilled rose wine… the food was fresh and full of flavour … the squid was perfectly cooked and the accompanying salad worked well with the dates adding a pleasant surprise. The roti with pork belly was delicious with fresh salad and little bursts of chili not hot.nThe service was friendly but all ordering is done on a small iPad … so remember your glasses!nDefinitely enjoyed and will dine again when I’m back in Pauanui
Went for a couple of quiet beers on a Friday afternoon, was told they were setting up for a function, and we had to sit outside. That was fine as we probably would have sat there anyway. Went in to order another round and was told she couldn't serve us as were still setting up for a function inside, we were outside. And the bar was closed. We were the only ones sitting outside. First time I've ever been refused to be served at 3.45 on a Friday afternoon. Not a good way to run a bar lady
Coffee was awesome and I love my coffee.... ribs, Korean fried chicken, and butterflied prawns - all great.
Finally got to come here! And WOW absolutely Devine. The coffee was excellent. Hubby had the Roti and I had the Chicken Thai salad. Flavour explosion! Definitely can’t wait to come back. Lovely staff too.
First time visiting The Local. Service was great, food came out fast. Was a party of 7 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. Will definitely be going back
