Delightfully pretty little church decorated with crockery and shells. Well maintained. I come every time I visit family in Guernsey. The children have loved it and it's become a special place for our family over the years.
Absolutely fantastic little minature chapel at many angles even from a distance when it first appears on the road towards it. Yes I went inside and a bit of a squeeze but truly stunning. Full marks to whoever looks after it. Probably due to the time of year there was a very well done little nativity scene. A quite touching prayer printed particularly baring on sufferers of the covid illness. I was sorry however if I may just say to see the last part of it reference to our lady or Mary whom clearly was a precious vessel and placed into the care of apostle John at the death of our Lord Jesus. However, there is no scripture that supports prayer addressed to her as divinity. God is revealed as Father Son and Holy Spirit, Twas the Holy Spirit that entered Mary so that the Holy thing called Emanuel should be born of woman. God is Known as economy or Holy trinity. 3 in 1. Not 4. I hope no-one minds me just taking liberty to say this as from my heart. After all, it is said to be non denominational so many Christians will without doubt agree. Still yes a very beautiful work and interesting history and nice grounds and shop a short walk up the quiet path/road.
A beautiful, small, tile and shell festooned chapel with every square inch covered. The chapel has a few rooms and short narrow corridors to link the rooms. The chapel has a small garden and a path you can follow to walk around. It took no more than 20 mins to have a good look and walk around. There is a unrelated gift/silverware shop 2 mins walk away with rather nice and clean toilets.
My brother and Daddy went to the little Chapel in Guernsey today it was an great experience and it was made out of mosaics and it cost free to get in per adult/kid and one of the best thing about the experience is it just like a dark cave which is the entrance/exit of the Chapel and they really enjoyed it today.
15.08.2022.. One man's work and what an achievement.I would recommend you read a little about the chapel before you go inside. It is well worth a visit and the bus stop is very convenient. It is amazing that a structure so small can be so special.Hope you like the photos.
What a delightful pretty church...small but interesting and worth a visit. Parking and toilets and excellent gift shop at site.
An absolute Must when visiting Guernsey. Just gorgeous. Looks so delicate. Beautifully decorated.
Amazing and stunning little chapel with an interior made of mosaic pebbles and broken china to decorate the shrine. This little gem is a must see when visiting Guernsey. The Chapel is a miniature version of the famous grotto and basilica at Lourdes in France and is actually the third version on the site.
A very interesting little Chapel. Beautiful decoration. Its story and that of the monk who was responsible for its building is fascinating. Shame he didn't get to witness its completion.
This place seriously took my breath away! I'd planned for it to be the one thing I had to do in Guernsey and it did not dissapoint - it's much better than any photo is saw. 100% worth a visit even if it requires a detour. There is a bus stop on the 71 route a short walk away. I did nearly miss it as isnt at ground level! Inside and out is really magnificent with the amount of detail and colour. Definitely take your camera!
