Story

Local Miramar resident Jacob Brown (ex- Boulcott Bistro and Tabou in Sydney) is the chef and co-owner of local eatery The Larder. The vision of The Larder is to service the community with fine, honest food in a relaxed neighbourhood surrounding. We aim to provide warm and friendly service that is at the same time both professional and knowledgable.

At The Larder we work passionately to establish and maintain close personal relationships with our growers and suppliers. We endeavour to source food locally and directly from the farmer. We believe that as well as supporting small local business, it also results in produce that has wonderful flavour and integrity. Our menu therefore is produce driven and directly reflective of the seasons.

As an entree I had calamari cooked to perfection. A main of snapper with crisp skin and succulent flavour followed. The meal portions were generous and accompanied by roasted potatoes with red onions and broccoli with hazelnuts. Others at the table had the beef fillet and raved about the flavour and tenderness.
Busy suburban cafe on a Sunday, reasonable in quality, quantity and price cafe-level brunch food, allow around $25 per person for a brunch meal and coffee. Flat white was very good. Be prepared to wait a little for a table if you arrive after 11 am on a Sunday.
This must be the BEST pie I've ever eaten!!! Wagyu Brisket pie the pastry is delicious, the whole experience was delicious $12.50 but honestly worth each bite. It was one of those pies you don't want to come to an end... its that good
It's an amazing breakfast place, just within working distance if you are visiting the Weta Cave. The food was delicious with beautiful plating. The staff there was really nice and helpful. We had a great time visiting. Definitely recommend.
Friendly service. Genuinely happy to serve you. Good range of food. Not far from Weta Cave, so handy if you've just done a tour. Out of all the brunches I've had in Wellington which are a lot, this place is my favourite. Wholesome and unique food, reasonably prices, simple decor, and friendly and relaxed staff.
Out of all the brunches I've had in Wellington which are a lot, this place is my favourite. Wholesome and unique food, reasonably prices, simple decor, and friendly and relaxed staff. Honestly, the only negative thing I have to say is that I wish I lived closer! But it is worth the cheeky bus ride out.
I had the breakfast burger and it was delicious! and very reasonably priced. The coffee was nice and the staff were really organised and lovely considering it was hectic and there were people lining up out the door just to get in. In-house made bread and pastry is a highlight, all at a fair value. The larder gets it all right.
Very tasty lunch here with good coffee n ginger slice earlier in the day. Very handy if visiting Weta Cave.
Likely one of Wellingtons better seasonal food restaurants for fine dining. Have eaten here on five occassions and each time has been an excellent experience. The ambiance and staff are excellent and pricing reasonable for the food quality level
This was fabulous. Great service and food 11/10. Most delicious brunch ever!! I wanted to come back the same day but my partner wouldn't let me
