The quality of the projection and sound was quite good. The seats were comfy. Worth noting the seating is mostly level unlike stadium seating so you are looking up at the screen. Not a big gripe and after a while you don't notice. I would be back.
It's a great experience not so crowed with people. You get to watch the latest movies, choose your seats good deals on snacks just what you want with big families.
Disappointing experience : we came for Avatar2 in 3D, after about 10 minutes the film stopped, smth happened to the power. The staff tried to fix it for about 15-20min, then the movie started again, but 3d didn't work well, the picture blurred. We asked for a refund because it's just a waste of time and money to watch Avatar in such an ugly quality. Although i must admit the staff did their best and even offered us free ice cream because of the inconvinience. One more thing - there is no light for numbers in the rows, how am I supposed to guess in a dark hall which row is mine? Bad UX
The nostalgia of hoyts hutt city alone is enough for the 5 stars. But besides that they brought the movies back to lower hutt city following the kaikoura quakes which we've taken our kids to enjoy countless times.
It's not a bad cinema by any means but don't expect an iMax setup, is what I will say. The entry way to the movies is pretty straightforward no pun intended as you enter. I should mention parking is street parking, so try to get in early to find a good spot to park your vehicle. The cashier was friendly, you can get your popcorn and drinks + tickets from the cashier or use the touchscreens to the right when you enter to buy your tickets. Movies are upstairs and there is no one to check your movie ticket which is strange. Seats were great, full leather and very comfortable with good space between each other and plenty of leg room. The screen is okish, not great but okish. Sounds is decent. Lights were off when we entered like 15 mins before the movie even started, so not sure if that is normal. Other than that, it's an ok cinema to watch a movie.
My Husband and Whanau with friends went to see Muru it was a interesting movie. The guy that served us was amazing and very customer friendly. The food is expensive but asked him for a better deal for a huge group and he helped out heaps. The only down fall is no toilets available and it needs more excitement. I hope your moving into the mall.
Very good seevice here and got to use my reel club rewards. Any discount is appreciated when school holidays are on. The reel club is why I always go to Readings.
Honestly prefer this cinema to the event cinema, it's less crowded and more comfortable of an environment for me.
Good service and venue, prices are lower than most cinemas.... Food and drinks are crazy-expensive, the only negative.
after 200 hours of walking through the wasteland of Lower Hutt, I realized Jabba was nowhere to be found. Until I saw this theater. I sat down to watch Return of the Jedi and was so impressed that I gave this place 3 stars.
