Story

The Huia Settlers Museum collection retraces the social history of early settlers on the shores of the Manukau Harbour (West Auckland), from the Whatipu, Huia to Laingholm region. The collection includes artefacts from the Orpheus shipwreck (1863) as well as gumdigging, the milling of kauri and the construction of dams for the Auckland water supply.
