Story

The aim of The Hopeful Horse has been to create a Haven for unwanted horses and ponies. We have done so for around ten years. We also saw a need for sane and sensible children's ponies, so we bred a select amount of ponies, however, our stallion has now been sold and gelded and became an incredible child's pony himself. The aim is that this page can become a resource for horse owners/trainers to access information, share information and access help and assistance when and if they need it. Over the last ten years of horse training for both myself and others and having taken on several rescue horses some of whom were deemed 'unmanageable', 'hard to catch' and 'dog tucker' I have learnt a lot of hard lessons. Along with my fabulous Mum Mel we have over 50 years of experience with 'trouble' or 'problem' horses. We have developed clear theories, strategies and systems to cope with 'problem' horses and help their handlers to manage them more effectively - in a holistic way. Every horse we work with has a lesson (or several) to teach us and we are firm believers that learning is a journey which never ends. If we don't know a solution to your problem, we will work it out with you. I have a background in Nursing, so holistic care is integral to the success of my horses. I hope we can help you to help your horse :)
