Although this hotel is old but there has been no issues with our stay here, location is close to everything, service is great, receptionists are all friendly and professional. And we have been informed that there is some construction noise due to hotel improvements, heard once but not really loud. Just a minor improvement, to have a soap holder in the bathroom, otherwise it's been a good stay for us and will be our option if we come visit Timaru again.
Booked this last minute fir one night and didn't disappoint at all. From the clean, comfy big rooms to the helpful friendly staff and even the patrons were so welcoming. Blanket on my bed was disgusting...meant to be pink but was brown and matted. Window was broken so wouldn't shut properly. Shower head was so low you can't stand underneath it. I was pretty disappointed and wouldn't stay again. Staff at front desk were friendly though.Rooms: 1/5
Nice location with carpark. No stress. Weekend would bit noisy due to gospel songs from church Actually they were great to make the decent vive of christmas just across but if you close the window should be okay.Rooms: 5/5

Stayed a few times ..most expensive room I've had ...black stuff on wall above door ...window Wood not seal wind whistle threw it If I hadn't had a 14 hour flight home wood not of stayed ..just needed sleepRooms: 1/5

Everything about this place is excellent, have stayed numerous times now, it's a one stop shop, bar, restaurant and for those people who like a bit of a gamble there are pokies, the staff are amazing as is the food, definitely worth the stay.Rooms: 5/5
My colleagues and I decided to stay here based on the photos that's are provided. It's all very run down and one of us had a hole in the wall. Not the best value for money but it's a good central location to access the town.Rooms: 2/5
