The walk up the hill is worth it. Absolutely amazing, the detail in all the structures, the wonder in the pieces that make up mosaic. The artist’s house just adds to the whimsical parts of the gardens. The garden is maintained beautifully. I spent the bulk of my time in awe of her talent. A must see.
So much wonderful detail! The aesthetic is very Kiwi in the colour and style. Artist Josie Martin has spent 22 years continuously creating this extraordinary garden. A must see in Akaroa.
Incredible location and a must-see for visitors of the area! One lady's multi-year passion all collected within one plot of land, absolutely phenomenal to walk around and take in all of the small details. The mosaic pieces need to be viewed in person to truly enjoy them, and if you are a nature lover like myself, you'll find yourself distracted by the incredible arrangement of flowers.
A very unique experience to see amazing mosaics and a lot of imagination in creating a wonderful multi-tiered garden and a beautiful classic early century home. The mosaics reminded me of the Gaudi exhibition Barcelona Spain. But I enjoyed this more than Barcelona!
A visual symphony wherever you look! A million different photos to take! Well worth the $35 entry fee, our visitors from the USA loved every nook and cranny!
