A fine, gentle unassuming offering from Young's. The Northcote in Battersea is a little quirky, of the shabby chic genre. The beer is plentiful and varied. Only one cask ale on today though at least as far as I could see. A modest but appealing selection on the menu, wholly appropriate for the place. A most enjoyable drink was had.
Great Pub with nice staff, very clean and overpriced food. 1- £15 for a burger without chips and "super-overwelldone" is not acceptable. 2- £5 for a small portion of chips? Really? £5? The beer was cold and fresh and I like the fact there were a few local breweries. Thank you for supporting local! Total for my humbled lunch meal for one. £26.75 One burger, a small portion of chips and a lager.
Not great but not awful. Very expensive food, a burger for £16 and was genuinely level with a 2am McDonald’s - dry and just meh in terms of flavour and size. Drinks were okay and the service friendly and did their best, but for the cost of drinks and food there’s better close by from my experience. Nearly £14 for two pints and a non-existent local ale/craft selection was mid boggling. Kind of disappointing as I think the staff were trying as best they could given the resources from head office Young’s and management…mostly felt like a Brewery/head office type of issues given it’s a pricing, portion, and selection issue.
Came with a friend last weekend and had an incredible time! Straight bangers all night, staff were very efficient even on a busy Friday eve. Definitely Recommend
Great ambience, fun pub quiz and super bar service. Lost two stars since the food is pretty bland and tasteless. From wings to chocolate cake, somehow everything is bland. Ideally just drink here, and go elsewhere to grab a bite.
The pub itself is lovely, and the staff were nice, but this was the worst roast dinner I've ever had. The potatoes were barely cooked and the mushroom 'wellington' was just a piece of pastry and lacked anything that was in the description. The cauliflower cheese was cold, even after being sent back and we couldn't eat it because it tasted awful. It was expensive and a disappointment - wouldn't eat here again, but would probably return for a drink.
Sunday Roast! Booked a table for two to try the Sunday roast for the first time, we were welcomed by a cheerful member of the staff as a nice start... We were seated on the first floor, very nice and quiet location. The food we ordered was amazing, we had two roast combination it seems big but worth of it, water and triple cooked chips... delicious! They are fast as well, I suggest to to order maybe trough their app! What can I say, the staff is helpful and always smiling making you feel welcomed! Definitely we'll come back!
Nice people Nice beer Dog friendly We enjoyed a summer day here Service: 5/5
Great place with a great vibe and good service but drinks are overpriced - just shy of £15 for a double G&T. I’m not sure what the gin was but probs their house brand as my friends got charged the same.Service: 5/5
The Northcote - what a place, but it’s nothing without Maddy Robinson. Talk about service with a smile. That Aussie charm takes this place up to an 11/10. She is like a warm hug on a cold London day. Her face behind the bar is all it takes to make a night. A true Aussie icon in London
