The Gateau House

We love their cakes, and this is the first time I’ve bought a whole cake from here. Normally we only buy sliced pieces.nMy husband chose a matcha red bean cake for my birthday, and I loved it.nI’ve always thought that red bean and matcha are a perfect match.

Beautiful cake and very delicious! The cream was light and not too sweet, and the fruit tasted fresh. Perfect birthday cake and great presentation. Service was friendly and the store had a nice atmosphere. Will definitely come back again!

The mango passion fruit cake is perfect 10/10!!!! Mocha is balanced with coffee and cocoa!!! Matcha red bean cake is smooth and good!!!

Quite disappointed with the experience. We went to grab a birthday cake around 6:10pm, well before the 7pm closing time. While we were trying to look through the options and decide, the staff member in the picture started packing all the cakes away into boxes. I understand this might be for the next day, but we weren’t even given a chance to choose.nnThere was also no greeting when we walked in. I do understand end-of-shift fatigue, especially having worked in hospitality myself, but this was nearly an hour before closing. This kind of behaviour feels unwelcoming and unacceptable. It also raises concerns about how long the cakes are being stored.

We recently visited The Gateau House on Harris Road and purchased a Black Forest birthday cake. The lady at the counter was incredibly kind and offered to write a Chinese birthday wish on the cake, even though she hadn’t learned Chinese before. It was a thoughtful touch that made the cake extra special! The service was excellent, and the cake itself was delicious. The Gateau House is definitely a great place for custom cakes and friendly service.
