My parents recommended this place after they found it on their tour of New Zealand and it's awesome. Great choice of beers, very friendly staff and a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. Dog friendly too and you can bring your own food. Board games are available and the log burner adds plenty of warmth on cold days. Went twice in my short stay in Nelson and will definitely be back when I'm next in town.
I love this old church that has turned into a pub. I would not have known about this amazing gem if the guy at our accommodation told about the free house pub. The atmosphere here is great. Amazing selection of beers and great hot chips.
It's just an awesome place, the halloumi wraps are like a full dinner at a reasonable price. Some good IPAs here to choose from. Dog and people friendly, very nice atmosphere. Heated tables in the winter - yep have a look at the inner section tables!
Nice tap house tucked away in a garden hosting a former church. Limited food options but the chips are great. Maverick stout is amazing. Worth a stop
Such a wonderful experience. Dogs and children both welcome. Amazing atmosphere. People playing cards. It was also a treat to take our dog and find her so welcome by everyone there. What a lovely way to spend some time. I especially loved the ingenious outdoor heating.
Great beer menu! Plenty of seating inside and out. If it's cold outside there's heated pipes running under the tables to keep you warm. They allow you to order takeaways from nearby restaurants and eat them while you drink your beer!

Excellent range of beers. Friendly staff will allow you to taste the beer before buying as alot of them have different unique tastes. Set in a church great to sit out In the garden when the weather is nice.
We came here with a large group. There was plenty of seating outside. You are allowed to bring your own food in with you. We saw families enjoying fish and chips and pizzas, and groups of people playing board games. The craft beer selection is great
What a little gem. I love the whole vibe here! Old church come pub now with a nice selection of drinks. Great chips to too order along with some light snacks but the chips are a must! The friendly English barman was super friendly made the place even better having him there! The biggest bonus they have an open table type thing where you can order food from elsewhere & have it here the Indian food that came from across the road looked amazing! Would defo recommend this place.
